When is it ok for me to remove my wedding band?

I'm a guy and I recently got married. I'm not much of a jewelry person so I'm not familiar with "ring etiquette" I guess. So when should I be removing my ring? It's Tungsten, so it should withstand quite a bit, but should I be removing it when working out, washing hands, etc.?

    Just keep it on.

When you have a shower...the shampoo etc. will gently clean the ring so it will keep looking its best!

I can't stand rings on my fingers. I used to wear it during the day and take it off at night, then I started leaving it in the jewelry box during the day too. My husband doesn't care for rings either (and he accidentally lost his while doing work on a car). So we've been married for 17yrs and I guess we stopped wearing our rings around about 3yrs after we got married. Basically what I'm saying is it's personal preference. Does your wife care? That would be the person to ask.

My husband is in the navy. He doesn't wear a ring for the mere fact that he could lose a finger. I would prefer he kept all of his body parts.. LOL. That being said If you are in a profession that you could potentially lose your ring, don't wear it. If your not just take it off at night, working out etc. Newly married brides like to see that ring on the finger. Well that's my two cents.

I believe it is meant to stay put... but...

If you feel that what you will be doing may endanger your safety, then please remove the ring. It is better than having your hand caught and severely injured.

If your career is something like an administrator, accountant, then wearing it all the time is fine.

But on the other hand, a career like farmer or engineer, mechanic or electrician, the ring is a potential safety hazard.

Also, depends on your hobbies: anything using heat, power tools, moving parts etc that could catch on the ring, sailing... it is better to remove the ring.

My husband doesnt have one due to his career and hobbies and personal beliefs.

Its really your comfort level. Do you have a job that could effect or be dangerous for you to have a ring on? If so then I would say take it off while working. If you feel like removing it to wash your hands then do so, I don't take my ring off when I was my hands. I really only take it off to clean it. Its up to you I would say as long as you are not leaving it off for prolonged periods of time then its fine.

I think it can pretty much stay on all the time. I mean I might take it off if getting extremely dirty with grease or something other than that leave it on. Plus if you take it off all the time you might lose it, and that will be terrible. I think that the ring is just a new feeling and you will get used to it in no time. Soon you will feel naked without it. Good luck and congrats.

You should be able to wear it while washing your hands. If it interferes with your workout, you could take it off.

I would talk to your now wife and see what she thinks. My husband is still not use to the feel of it on his hand and we have been married since October:)

Both he and I remove our rings to sleep. Sometimes I don't wear mine on the weekends around the house.

The only time I remove my rings is when I am handling raw meat, and when I get pissed off at my husband and I throw them at him heehee. Unless your ring can get caught in something and rip your finger off, it usually stays on.

Same for me, I will never take my ring off unless handling food, or showering. I don't want it to fall down the drain. lol.

    haha

i live with my fiance & even if i don't have my engagement ring he will go crazy on me that he didn't buy it for me not to wear it lol

but i keep mine even when i shower it's not going to mess up!

i just take it off when i cook or wash the dishes!

a guys wedding band seems more easy to wear because it doesn't have big diamonds

but if it doesn't bother your wife for you just to wear it when you guys go out

    then just take it off!
