Most big cities in the US have good Muslim communities. The largest is Dearborn, Michigan.
I accepted Islam in 1986 and came to live in Saudi Arabia in 1987. While I intend to return to the US to live within the next few years, I'm glad that my children have grown up in a place where it's normal to be Muslim, alhamdulilah. They attended an English language British curriculum Islamic school, received an excellent education, had teachers and friends of a dozen nationalities, and have a world view that they would not have had growing up in the USA.
Makkah and Medinah are the best, of course, but Jeddah, which is only an hour's drive from Makkah, is a rapidly growing, modern city right on the coast of the Red Sea.
If you want to look for a job outside the USA, I recommend you take a degree or certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages.

You have a good perspective from having lived outside the US, however, because you're young, you lack historical perspective. The US has changed greatly over the last 10 years. The country is being run by people who mainly care about winning the next election, and who constantly manipulate people's emotions through inflammatory rhetoric and disinformation. "Illegal immigration" was not the major issue it is now until mid 2006 when the Republican party decided to appeal to its base with draconian proposals. They ramped up the natural backlash against foreigners into a frenzy of hate and then they couldn't put the genie back into the bottle in time to pass a somewhat reasonable immigration reform bill. You seem to be on a good track of thinking for yourself, but I hope you decide to vote in the presidential election. If there's one thing for certain, it really matters who the US president is. As for the people on this board, many are paid partisans or campaign volunteers, several are astro turfers. So the opinions many posters "express" are not for real and are far more extreme than the real opinions of real people.

As-salamu-alaikum..
Congratulations for the newborn baby, I hope he/she grows up to be a lovely Muslim person.
If you want to move to an Islamic community inside the US, as far as I know, it's a place called "Dearborn" in Michigan, they say it's the most populated Muslim community among the whole states. There you can find mosques, Muslim schools and freedom of Islamic life (Sunni)..
If you want to emigrate outside the US, I advise you to start with Egypt, there you can really live as a true Muslim, but the life there is not so easy :(
Also you can go to Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, or any nearby Arabian country. In addition to Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia and a lot more...
I hope you and your family a great life (in this world and in the Hereafter)
May Allah bless you, sister :)
As-salamu-alaikum
Source(s): About "Dearborn", I got this information from an American program called "30 Days" if you know it. The episode is called "Muslims and America". It talks about a Christian man who went to Michigan to live between Muslims for a month, to study their life and increase his knowledge about Islam. You can search for the episode on Google if you want to. Good luck ;) - 1 decade ago
Assalaamu alaikum,
I highly recommend visiting the Muslim community at Stone Mountain, Georgia. See:
Masjid At-Tawheed
4861 Memorial Drive
Stone Mountain, GA. 30083

I know a few people who were looking to move to a good Muslim community where they can learn more about their deen, and they chose the Stone Mountain community. Mashaa-Allaah, the Imaam there is a graduate from an Islaamic University, and there are many opportunities to learn about the Qur'aan and Sunnah in that community, alhamdulillaah.
The community is hosting a mini-Islaamic lecture series in May inshaa-Allaah. Information is on the flyer at:

Salaam Sis. I have been to many communities throughout the United States. The Community I highly recommend is in Irving, Texas. They have a beautiful masjid and school. They are the most family friendly masjid I have ever been to. There are many classes and programs specifically for Sisters and They are very helpful. This community embraced my family with love and kindness and we grew much in Islam while we were there. Inshallah I will be returning by this time next year. It would be nice to see you there.........Salaam.

Here in my country, we are very cool people, we don't have any kinda war, we practice our religion freely, even the government gives permission for Jummah prayer, public holiday on Eid, permission on Adhaa etc....., we have Masajid everywhere, we just need a good salary, and that is the only problem over here, we are too far from the world and everything is expensive.
We are surrounded by beautiful beaches, tourists call it the paradise Island.

Dearborn is the Arab capital of the USA. It has more Muslims then anywhere else in the USA. But if your white I recommend wearing niqab when you go out as the Arab men there stare at women who don't wear niqab. That is what happened in my experience going there. Also the Detroit/Dearborn area is the most crime infested city in the USA. 1,222 crimes per 100,000 people.
