Would Obama use a 1919a6 to hunt deer at medium ranges.?
Think about those 300 to 500 yard shots across canyons. Needless to say, the gun is in the A6 configuration so that it can be used without a pintle mount. The belt would be limited to the number of cartridges permitted under the state law.
The whole idea is to use a very heavy barrel rifle for maximum accuracy at these ranges. Most hunting rifles are too light of barrel to be fully useful at 300 yards.
The 1919 action cycles slow enough that single shots are possible. This would not be the case if I was using the MG42. In most cases, for this type of long range shooting, the hunter is not moving, so gun weight is not really an issue.

Obama couldnt find the deer at Brookfeild Zoo
A few days humpin a M1919 or the ammo cans for one might make a better man out of him.

Uhhhh, not sure where to start with this one.
The short answer? The semi-auto variants of the 1919 are accurate enough to hit the target, and the 30-06 chambering will easily take deer and even elk at long range.
So, yes, you could hunt with it.
However, it wouldn't be very practical.
because the 1919A6 is designed to a much different task, it is extremely heavy compared to hunting rifles (32+ pounds). Also, the real 1919's are automatic only, which would tend to be a bad thing on a hunting rifle. There are semi auto variants available however.
Also, I'm not sure where you are going with the Obama thing, but while he claims to enjoy spear fishing, he also claims to have never hunted. So would Obama use any gun to hunt deer at medium ranges? Not likely.
Regarding additional details: a good bolt gun is going to be far more accurate than a machine gun at long range. Heavy barrels can be fit to bolt guns very easily, and a number of companies produce long range bolt guns that are capable of hitting a target at 1000 yards. 300 to 500 yards is a long shot while hunting, but it's nothing incredible.

The thing I've noticed with most anti gunners, if you can actually get them out shooting, they really enjoy themselves. If you take the time to explain safety, and help them learn how to safely enjoy the sport. I've helped more than one person become hopelessly addicted to a sport that they once loathed. They simply were ignorant about shooting sports, but once they gave it a chance, they absolutely fell in love with it. My favorite example, a friends father in law came up to Montana from South Africa. He had never fired a gun before, and all guns were evil in his mind. We took him out shooting; at first he didn't seem to be enjoying it much, then he found the joys of shooting a 444 Marlin lever action. It was love at first sight, and he was hell on ground squirrels with it. It may have been slight overkill, but I wasn't about to try to take the gun back. About 40 gophers later, he has a new appreciation for gun and shooting sports. He even told us he was going to look into buying a gun when he returned home (he wasn't even sure about the legality of it). If you could get Obama hunkered down behind that 1919, I'll bet we'd have a new friend in the NRA.

No one in their right mind would. This is not a hunting rifle. Obama's a very smart man, in case you hadn't noticed. I picture him with a Remington 700 in .308 for deer at that range.
Personally, I'd take a bolt-action in .243 WSSM for 500 yard shots on deer. My Remington 788 carbine in standard .243 is fine out to 300 yards.
