Why do women have more rights in certain countries?

Why can places such as the U.S. or Europe have more rights for women than palces in Africa? What makes these places more flexible for women? Why did it not take long for women to achieve rights in the U.S., whereas in Africa, women have never had high roles in their society?

Update:

i didnt meant more rights than men. I meant that they have more rights than the women in places like africa.

It's because the US and Europe are first world nations. Because of their infrastructure, women don't need men to protect them because there are functioning police departments with little corruption, women don't need a man to hunt for them because meat comes wrapped in neat plastic packages at the grocery store, women don't need men to take care of them by working hard labor intensive jobs because our economy provides jobs that women can use to support themselves with that don't damage their bodies like the heavy labor jobs men did like agriculture and construction.

Second and third world nations generally don't have the infrastructure to support women's equality because without what I mentioned above, it's difficult to enforce the handicaps that removes the advantages of size and strength that men have over women.

Over there, if a woman does not want her ears or nostril cut back off, she keeps her mouth close and maintains to be positioned. this is how they run issues. it fairly is going to take somewhat some very courageous women human beings a protracted time to alter this nasty habit. I doubt any progression would be made in this technology.

It's a matter of culture and upbringing. In the U.S. and some of Europe, the cultural mindset has been changed through many battles to provide that women have more rights. But in other countries, where their religion is still the main cultural drive, their women are still treated as second class citizens.

Because in other countries religion still clouds the mindset of most people who think that women arent human beings who deserve rights.

Women in the U.S. and Europe generally have *equal* rights, not *more* rights. Women in many places in Africa and Asia have few rights.

Edit: Why? Because many countries in Africa and Asia are still developing, under the grip of war, disease, corruption and tribalism, and do not have the kind of rule of law that leads to fair treatment for all citizens.

BECUASE there are different governments. some are oppressive to woman, while some are oppressive to men, while some are oppressive to both.

There is no government which is not at all oppressive.
