Brought a Kodak C913 (in pink) digital camera ...?
I've fiddled around with it and taken photos but the color seems really off to me. Like jaundiced almost. Does anyone else have this problem?
I don't know if it's something I should send the camera back over & go for a different one. I have played with the settings, it didn't seem to help. I even took the same picture with my old camera (an HP) and my new camera and I honestly feel the old one took a better photo & its got less mgp. I'm afraid to use it and then "lose" all the pictures essentially if I don't like the coloring.
Any opinions, suggestions, etc?
PS- I'm not a professional obviously, just an amateur trying to get a little more experience and also just love taking photos!
I purchased it offline from walmart, it came brand new sealed in a box. My old HP is only 6.2 mgp, while my new Kodak is 9.2 mgp. I know the color might differ slightly, but I don't think ANY camera should have a jaundiced coloring to it. I think I will take/send it back and try another camera.
Lolz... I didn't get it just because it was pink... I actually read some pretty great reviews on it and it just happened to come in pink so that was a plus. I'm going to take some photos with it this weekend, everday photos that I would normally take then upload them to my computer to see how they look. I don't know if the coloring is just so different from my other camera, like brighter. Maybe thats what its supposed to look like and my other camera had bad coloring. Its hard to tell. Next week I'll post a similar question with 2 photos attached and people can tell me their opinion. Thanks!

Was the camera brand new or an ex-display/demonstration model?
If it was ex-display, then try resetting all the settings on the camera, there's normally a reset function which will basically set the camera to its fresh out of the factory state, this would remove any functions and features turned on/off when being demonstrated in the store (you can find info on resetting all the settings in the manual).
If the camera was not ex-display (namely brand new from a sealed box) or resetting it doesn't work and the pictures still look off colour, then it could be a fault with the cameras sensor, in which case I'd visit the retailer you bought it from and find out about exchanging it for a non faulty model.
Bear in mind also that all cameras differ in their colour reproduction and image quality and it may just be a case that the Kodak model you bought just isn't as good as your old HP, in which case, if its not a fault with the camera, then have a look at the retailers refund policy as most companies offer a 30-Day Money Back/Exchange policy if you're not satisfied with your purchase so long as you have a receipt/proof of purchase and the camera is in as new condition and you still have the box with all the various bits and pieces that came with it.

Kodaks are not known for being the best cameras. Too many people have troubles with them. I'd take it back and look at other brands. Canon makes the best point & shoots in my opinion. And don't just look at the cute pink ones. Usually the "cute" ones are not necessarily the best when it comes to taking pictures.

take the unit back and exchange for new unit before it becomes too late for you to do so
take a test pic while still in store
look at sony, canon or nikon
