Pregnant mice concerns...?

I bought two mice from the local pet store 6 days ago now. They were meant to be snake food and not sexed. I chose two of them and after bringing them home, I was convinced that one was male and one was female. I was debating on separating them or bringing one back to trade for another female. However, the day before yesterday the female mouse began to look pregnant to me. Not large enough to be sure, but just enough to be suspicious. As of last night, BOTH mice look significantly larger and possibly pregnant.

My questions are these - if they are both pregnant can they stay in the same tank together or should they be separated? And secondly, can anyone link me to some pregnant mice in their early stages of pregnancy? My final worry is that the mice I have are younger than they should be to be to be pregnant in the first place, is it likely they will experience difficult pregnancies?.

Last week I had two new mice (Both female, previous mice sexed wrong so we had to change them) and they were both pregnant and one litter we born a few days ago and I'm expecting the other one tonight, and so far, there have been no problems. The mice are both 12 weeks which is young but the litter I have has 6 babies. There should be no problems, and if there are, its too late now.

Leave them to do what they want and don't try to help.

Both the mice will help each other and the babies.

I would separate the potential mommies. I had a pregnant mouse that ate her babies because she was threatened by the other mice in the same container. If you want the babies to live make sure mom is comfortable, has plenty of food, water, and bedding and space. She'll make a nest a few days before she's ready to give birth.

If they were males you should be able to see the testicles under the tail. No balls then theyre female.

They both are probably pregnant if the pet store didn't separate the males and the females. If the mice aren't mature enough they will probably die giving birth

mice can become pregnant at 6 weeks...so it's possible...but ur rite to be concerned...they can have problem pregnancies at that age. not defs tho. but the other thing is that they are to young to be parents and may ignore babies etc. is worth checking them with the vet if they keep looking bigger. Good luck. xx
