Prom Help! Will long hair hold curls well?

My hair is about a foot long from my chin when pulled straight. It is wavy and somewhat shapeless, and I plan on donating it soon. For prom, I wanted to wear my hair in curls similar to Miley Cyrus or Vanessa Hudgens. I'm concerned my hair will not hold curls well. When I curl may hair with an iron it works fine and lasts. I'm assuming it will too when a hairdresser does it. THANK YOU!

It will probably last a while.

I have really long hair as well.

I'd say bring some hair spray with you and if you feel like it's wearing off or falling flat give a spray and scrunch it up a little.

    Have fun! :)

Either a perm at a salon (expensive) Or use a volumising hair shampoo, then blow dry (tip hair upside down and shake about for volume whilst doing so) then spray all over... Comb/brush it out and then curl. Hold curls for longer periods of time. I'd recommend using gooood straighteners to curl, they do a more natural job. Spray once again after you've finished.

If a Hairdresser does it, I am sure she will make them last longer. But and advice to you, DON'T straighten it and then curl it, because your curls will fall faster, and make sure you wash your hair one day before you plan on having the due, because it looks better when is one day not washed and it holds them longer. I also donated my hair it was really long. I donated it to "Locks of Love foundation" good luck. Hope you find one too.

If your curls stay when you use a straightener them I'm sure it will when you get it done because they will more than likely use hair products to make sure your hair maintains its shape and shine. So don't be too worried & if you're still very worried then just ask your hair dresser about it and i'm sure they'll do their best for you!

    Hope this helped (:
