How to find an air leak in a Western Star semi truck?
A new valve was put on, put the air pressure will not hold up when parked, in the sleeper. It loses air, when parked over night, but only drops slowly. Started out 1/8 inch below, but was down to 3/4 inch next morning. Does any one know what could cause this, a mechanic is scratching his head after 3 1/2 hours under truck.

Any container under pressure will slowly lose that pressure unless a source is applied to maintain it. In other words, it's normal for a truck's air pressure to drop if the engine is shut off. As long as it can maintain air pressure when operating, don't worry about it. These mechanics that tell you it shouldn't do that is just trying to get your money.

we shut it down and try to hear it. Next we used soap water and sprayed all the lines and look for bubbles.
If all else fails disconnect lines and isolate sections to find the leak
