Your opinion on tattoos?

Tattoos and getting tattoos is an amazing display of art. Specially now with many different styles of tattoos being displayed by people.

The only thing I am sick and tired of is hearing all of these new fan-dangled tattoo wearers constantly stating the tattoo has to have meaning (as one person posted in there answer but in the same breath mentions how much they adore a bold tribal piece that some got because he thought is was kick a** idea). Hog-wash!!!!!!! I say if you get a piece because you like that is meaning enough and it will always represent a time in your life when you were into a certain genre of art and design. Stop oooing and aahhhing over all the sob stories behind these only average tattoos being giving by artists on national TV that are only money hungry and don't give a crap about the art form. The stories are only there to get viewers and these people with these hoe-dunk reasons for getting a tattoo are simply fad frenzied maniacs looking for an excuse to get a tattoo so they can reason with themselves.

If you like a piece of art but not too sure where it would fit in your home; simple, get a tattoo of it.

I love your idea, and props to you for being strong through all of that. I hope your mother is doing well now. I like you idea a lot, actually. The stars are the only part I would change. They're too overdone on a lot of people, so maybe a different simple image would be better to represent the 8 of you. Maybe the first letter of all your names? It depends on what you want, really. I love tattoo's

I think they can be very beautiful and also very distasteful. It depends what you get, where and how well it's done. I like piercings too because they don't hurt as much but they look cute. I'm already planning mine, and I gotta wait 5 years! I've got a homemade one but it's not very nice looking really. Hopefully I'll be able to get ink over the top of it.

I love them, too. I think the body can be a beautiful canvas that tells a story of a person's life. They should be something that's been given a great deal of thought and a design or verse that means something to the bearer.

Piercings rock, too. Self-expression is an art form and IMHO, our bodies are ours to do with as we please.

i love them! as long as they are well done. i dont care on who or how many but i do believe they should have meaning to you and they should be original...i believe that if you don't like tattoos then you shouldn't get one but you don't need to come on here judging everyone who does and telling them not to get one. your body, your decision. simple as that.

i think they a very good way to express yourself and show the world who your are I think both tattoos and piercings are a good way to express your self

I think that if your going to get one, get one YOU love. That way you won't regret it. I think they are cool, as long as the person doesn't go overboard. I don't think girls should have tons of them, because it looks trashy, but a few are cool.
