prime the engine with an oil primer before you start it up to make sure oil is flowing throughout the engine and then start it up and don't let it get below 2,000 RPM for the first 20 minutes to break the cam in and then change the oil and filter again, your now ready to get all your timing and carb adjustments done if you have a carb , after that take it kind of easy on it for the first 500 miles and don't keep it at one speed, take it up and down some during that first 500 miles to get the rings seated in and after the 500 miles drive it like your going to drive the vehicle.

If at all possible, prime the oil pump for 15 minutes before you touch her off. Google your motor and find out how.
Town driving or varied speed operation is better for the first 500 miles. If possible, take short hops and let the motor cool off till it's stone cold. Sustained high speed driving creates too much heat and friction on the engine bearings, camshaft, lifters, piston rings, wrist pins and valve guides.
Dump the oil and filter @ 2,000 miles

for start up, be sure there is oil pressure... best done by putting a manual guage on the engine...
for break-in, I agree with the info on the website suggested by the previous answer... it is regimented and will give you optimum wear as the moving parts seat to each other...
just be sure to change the oil at 500 miles and at 3000 miles.
good luck

make sure you have oil pressure before you start this engine I mean you need to pre prime before you start it.Don't beat on it after you get it started drive it nice till you pass the 6 or 7 thousand mile mark might be a little more you should also notice better fuel economy at this point

first 50 miles stay under 50mph then stay under 60mph until 100 miles use varying speed between 50 mph to 60mph after the first 50 miles.until 100 miles.

just drive normally. dont mash the gas or run it at high RPMs for a little while. also letting it idle for a while will help it a bit.
