What is the reason for the world having a negative view on US?

Why do they think the American people support everything the gov't does?

Because we have 800+ military bases in 130+ countries around the world.

We are world police, therefore world bullies.

Imagine if china was so widespread.

We team up with dictators, overthrow dictators, install dictators. We fund governments, we sell arms to governments, we fund both sides of every war we can find, we threaten countries as if it is not a crime.

Even with Obama, we still have the Patriot Act, the secret renditions, the violent wars and occupations.

Really, the american voters are to blame...We have allowed 2 false choices to take over politics.

Im sure if we adopted a humble foreign policy, the world view of America would change quickly, as would our economy.

America has been no.1 for many decades, people have flocked here by the millions in order to live a better life. The top dog is always disliked. Now that Obama is turning the US into a second rate country we should be more liked around the world.

In all honesty the most negative view I ever got was the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina seeing those people waiting and dieing on the side of the road in a country that has so many resources at its disposal.

I didn't agree with Bush going to Iraq but I did understand however misguided it was that he thought it was in the best interests of his country.

You really know little about Americans.

How can you live here and be so left out.

Americans have rarely supported the Government.

The most support I ever saw was for Reagan and that was a long time ago.

George W. Bush damaged the image of the US by sending its troops, England and Australia into Iraq, over so called "weapons of mass destruction" when really there were none, and he just wanted oil. (No accusations meant) He has made many mistakes. But since Obama has been elected, I think the image is changing for the better. Slowly but surely. And we all hear of my crimes been committed in America. But I think we all need to think of the bright side of the US, as there are good people there too!

Because we have a ditz for a president.

Every time he speaks, either here or overseas, it looks more and more like he is little more than a marrionette being manipulated by a power behind the scenes.

Unfortunately some of our allies are expressing the same opinion.

8 years of our previous president, George W Bush, have destroyed our image in the eyes of other nations

Our government has made many bad decisions in the past and the American lifestyle is very wasteful. We don't really know how much stuff we buy, but it is a lot.

Probably for the same reason you think conservatives don't travel and live and small cities. :-)

Source(s): http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvjGw... I believe you asked: "Cons I know always stay in their hometown, not even a big city, because it's "liberal". Would you travel the world if you had the change? Maybe it would change your perspective a lil bit? Just curious.."
