You won't be able to see, but it may have begun to separate into oil and water with the water going to the bottom of the tub. This will throw the flavor off a little, but it should still be OK to eat.

Any hydrogenated fat is bad for the arteries. Butter is better for you than
a hydrogenated fat but Olive Oil is even better.
