How will my children benefit educationally from a vacation in Florida?
I have the concept, just not the right words. We are driving from PA to FL. So going through the states can be educational. Kennedy Space Center is easy. But the beach, Epcot, and Hollywood studios? I don't want hard technical terms as my children are in elementary school. I need to fill out a request form for the school.

THe beach would involve endangered species like turtles and their nests. It is turtle nesting time on the beaches in Central Florida.
Also the use of sand dunes, what they are for and why they are protected in Florida. How about littering and the garbage that is washed up on the beaches from people throwing garbage into the ocean . EPCOT has not only the worlds pavilions but also the first part that includes the Land ,The Seas, and Imagination. pavilions these are great for learning experiences.Hollywood studios is a behind scenes look at movie making.Have a great time and you will learn something also.

Epcot has 11 countries that you can take your kids to. Before you go in, you can purchase a World Passport for your kids. Then in each country, visit the KidCot station. At those stations, your child can get a stamp for their passport, meet an actual resident from that country, and learn a little something.
There are many attractions in Future World at Epcot that are educational too. First is an area called Innoventions. It's an educational but fun area where kids can learn about technological advancements and more in a virtual kind of world. The Seas with Nemo & Friends is a large aquarium, which always has educational value. Spaceship Earth is an attraction that teaches about the history of communication. The Land Pavilion teaches kids all about agriculture and nature, with rides like Living with the Land and more. The Imagination Pavilion teaches kids to use their Imagination, and also about cameras, computers & film since it's sponsered by Kodak.
Hollywood Studios doesn't have as much educational value, but if you need to find something, you can. The Magic of Disney Animation is specifically designed to teach kids how animated films are created. There's even an area where kids can create their own animation. I would suggest mentioning that if you need something for Hollywood Studios.
For the beach, you can create your own lessons for your kids. Teach them about the tides ebbing, or tell them how sand is created. Have them find seashells, and talk about the different kinds you found. Look for various wildlife, and see if they can identify the animals, or see if you can tell them something new about that kind of animal.
My parents did this for my every year my whole life, and it was a lot of fun. I also learned a lot, and completely support parents doing this. Have a great trip!!
