I just purchased a Canon Powershot A470 but I keep getting errors when I try to install the software?

The errors I keep getting say that windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. The other error says that requires interactive window station.

Please, anyone HELP!!

The software that usually comes with cameras aren't necessary for the camera to function and to upload photos to your computer. Usually the software is just a way to organize your photos. If you still want the software though, what fhotoace said should resolve the problem, but if not call Canon.

Have you tried plugging in your camera to the computer without installing the software?

All you need is for the computer to recognize your camera so you can transfer files between them. If that works, you don't need any other software.

For photo editing, use another more powerful program like Corel or Photoshop. For organizing, IRFanview is free (still, I hope).

Don't connect the camera first. But install the software first, and then the camera, If the problem still exist, maybe it is the version of your windows...
