Any other Republicans confused and happy with Obama's tax haven plans?
I am happily shocked, proud and full of respect for Obama closing up so many tax loopholes and now going after off-shore tax havens. But, um, er isn't this the old platform of the Republicans? In my forty-five years, and I am a twenty year bookkeeper, this is the first time I am watching Democrats actually close up tax cheat opportunities rather than block closing of them.
I am proud of these actions across the aisle and hope they continue. Of course, this will put a ton of democratic contributors at a loss of who to support now. Who will they support now if the Dems also work for fair taxation?

Lets all hope that this doesn’t encourage companies to simply move their operations to other countries for good. While the tax loopholes that they (and all rich – including the imposter Obama) enjoy did need to be closed, there could be consequences.
I’d like to see Obama do something to come down on tax cheats like the ones that he seems to like hiring…..

I see it doesn't take much to make you happy. Closing so many loopholes? It's one loophole that is used by many.
We've got a tax code that is 65,000 pages long. No one understands it including the people who administer it. And the ding-a-lings who say they are closing the loopholes haven't a clue what they are doing either.
There are so many loopholes in the code that plugging one of them is as effective as forming a bucket brigade to keep the Titanic from sinking.
Knock off the red herrings and rewrite the WHOLE tax code. If the end result is longer than the US Constitution do it again until anyone who can do basic math can fill out the forms.
And watch out for those corks they put in those loopholes. They are aimed at the "BIG guy" and they end up increasing costs on everything for everyone else.
Democrats work for fair taxation? How? Make companies pay more in taxes? Companies don't pay ANY taxes. Their customers do. The customer buys a product and the company who sold the product gives a portion of the profit to the government in taxes. So who really paid those taxes? Did the company pay them or did the customer pay them?

I think the offshore tax haven was a loophole that needed to be closed. Most Republicans would disagree. But the other "loophole" that he closed is really quite wrong, the issue of taxing profits that companies make in foreign countries. I'm not sure that the US even has the right to impose such a tax, because those companies are already taxed by those companies that they make the profit in. Normally they would get taxed on that income when they bring it into the US, which to me is fair, but they make it a point not to bring it into the US, and would instead divert it into a bank account in the Cayman Islands or something.
I'm not sure this is an across the aisle thing, it's about raising taxes on businesses which is what Democrats love. I'm sure this was not a hard decision for them to make and that their base is going to support it.
Part of the intention of this move is to keep jobs in the US. Why did jobs leave the US? Because high rates of taxation and high costs of labor made doing business here less attractive. I don't understand then how imposing these taxes the world over solves that problem. To me it indicates the likely response is going to be that companies will leave the US, period.

There heavily is not any tax will develop if the tax cuts are left to expire. purely pre-bush tax's will return. the rationalization being Pres. Obama compromised with them and in return for the cuts he have been given prolonged unemployment advantages. an spectacular variety of those republicans are no greater to any volume extra perfect than the democrats up there and that they the two do now no longer come to a determination directly to compromise or grant in too ordinary. people who grew up interior the Bush gen. will see it as an develop yet people who've been paying tax's interior the previous bush shouldn't probable ***** that lots utilising actuality it fairly is going to generate gross sales besides as being the same previous tax's they paid interior the previous.

Don't be too happy too soon. Obama tells us what we want to hear but it's unlikely he is going after his rich Democrat friends for loopholes. They may target Republicans but the same will happen as with all the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet that happen to be Democrats. They will keep their offshore accounts and duck taxes. The reason they don't mind raising taxes is because they don't pay them anyway.
