Computer will not boot up--stuck on Windows XP screen?
So I have XP 2007 on a desktop. Today I ran spy sweeper like I do weekly. Something came up (don't remember the issue) with 5 red bars of risk--bad! So I went to quarntine it and it froze spy sweeper. I went to then close out of QuickBooks, which said it wouldn't back up. So then I decided to reboot the system since everything was froze. Now it will not boot up past the XP Windows screen. Any suggestions? Also weird--we never use this computer for email or internet!

try rebooting your computer into safe mode usually is f9 or f8 when you first turn on your laptop/desktop uninstall spysweeper ((can always get better Free Safe virus an spyware protection)) after you uninstall it turn off you laptop/desktop the normal way from start menu
if you still cant get to windows desktop or cant get to safe mode try reinstalling windows xp if you have a recovery disc that came with your computer use it insert it into ur cd rom load it follow steps
or if you dont best way try loading a windows xp disc to repair a possible damaged drive that may have been caused from your spysweeper
if still haveing problems can try contacting me at mikey69881@yahoo.com good luck!!!:)

Your sweeper is corrupted. Boot in Safe mode first- reboot your computer and press F8 repeatedly until you get a screen asking if you want to boot normally or in Safe mode.
Boot in Safe mode, uninstall Spy Sweeper, then reboot. Should be fine.

I had a dell computer that was stuck on the screen with the loading bar, the tech support guy had me change the SATA operation and the problem has fixed. when ur computer first starts to boot press F2 and that gets you to the page where you can change the SATA. Im not a computer wiz by any means so be careful, hope that helps :)

if its not used on the internet why are you checking for spyware???? and how did it suddenly get an infection, anyway, try pressing escape, it might let you in a bit further to see whats going on, also try it in safe mode and look at the error logs, but its not looking good, just another example of why i have spent so much of my life reinstalling xp after its got screwed
