I was and was NOT shocked. I am not surprised really.

I am a Christian and do not feel Obama's heart is into Christian religion . His heart is not with Jesus.

It shows. He has not asked Billy Graham for guidance as most all other Presidents did.

All we Christians can do is unite in prayer for our country and our soldiers.

Probably one more reason why you and I were brought together in these end times.

Your question implies that on the National Day of Prayer everyone got together and prayed for a whole day. You KNOW this is not true. No one is required to pray on the National Day of Prayer. And, you know that quite well. An equally optional National Day of No Prayer would probably result in much the same types of activity that occur every day. People do not pray or not pray because of a declared day. The declaration is a reminder, not a requirement. The National Day of No Prayer would probably remind people who pray that prayer is even more needed. So, your attempt to "balance" things would be useless. This is another example of being unable to distinguish between two things that are equal and two things being the same... .

I don't know but it's certainly not a positive message.Obama is supposed to be part of the United Church of Christ but is not participating in the National Day of Prayer.Something must be wrong with this man.If he's part of a religion why doesn't he stand up for what he believes in?It's like he's saying that there's no hope for the country while evidently there is.I can go on and on about this but I think I made my point.

I think it is a good thing that President Obama is not partcipating in the National Day of Prayer. It shows that he supports all Americans and soldiers regardless of their faith or lack there of. The President is there to represent the United States as a whole. Not just Christian Americans. I will be praying to my deities for our troops and our wonderful secular nation.

It proves that this president does not represent the views of the majority of this country. As long as we, the people, support the National Day of Prayer, we will have a National Day of Prayer. We, the people, declare the United States a Christian/Messianic nation.

"...and make us look like we are not united in our beliefs."

That's because we're not united in our beliefs. Everyone is different, and this country was based on freedom of religion. I think it is a good thing that Obama is not participating because it shows that it is okay not to be mainstream Christian 24/7.

The message is that the president realizes that the US is a secular nation (treaty of tripoli, separation of church and state) and that not everybody is christian.

I'm glad he's not. As a country we were built on freedom of belief. We shouldn't pressure people into believing something they don't because someone like the president is participating in an event such as this

Great, another reason for Christians to say he's the anti-christ.

How exactly is the president not praying going to cause harm for the whole nation?

    That's just silly.
