Question concerning Revelation 19:9 (Marriage supper)?

This is an opinion question.........so there is no right or wrong answer.

Here is the Scripture in question:

Revelation 19:9

"Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' " And he added, "These are the true words of God.""

I've always wondered whether or not this great in-gathering of the saints (believers in Christ) someday would be accompanied by food?

Do you believe we will eat in heaven or even have the need to with our new & incorruptable bodies? (1 Cor 15:51-58)

Thanks.....and be blessed today,

-Primo

Isn't that why the Baptist always have pot-luck dinners?

Manna was called the Bread of Heaven (as was Jesus) so I think it's possible.

Besides Jesus did say in Mark 14:25 “I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God.” Which implies there will be drinking and most likely eating as well in the Kingdom of God.

Besides, all covenants were confirmed with a meal between the parties concerned. Which includes a marriage covenant between the Lamb and His bride.

Of course we eat. Not only will we eat at the wedding supper of the Lamb, but we will also eat from the Tree of Life that was originally in the Garden of Eden. If you notice after Christ's ressurection, he ate a piece of fish to show the apostles he wasnt a ghost. Jesus also talks about a gathering of all the Old Testament righteous such as Abraham, Moses, Jacob, all at a table to eat.

Well the Scriptures teach that Jesus ate with the disciples after He was resurrected. If we assume that we will be like Him, we will likely be able to eat, but it won't likely be a necessity.

I would presume (again, no one knows for sure) that God will allow us to retain the joy of eating (especially in community), and Scripture refers in a few places to the marriage SUPPER of the Lamb.

Of course this raises all sorts of questions we have no answers to: Where exactly will the food come from? If there is no death, how can we eat anything, including vegetables? Where will the food go once we have consumed it? We won't have to eliminate it from glorified bodies, would we?

    Interesting questions.

Mt 26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.

Rev 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

the bible says scripture must prove scripture, so we need 2 verses to prove ...

In light of the above 2 verses, Yes, there will be a CELEBRATION when we get to heaven !!!

Only the Bride will be at the wedding supper, we may eat some food, But our main mission is our final instructions of how to rule & reign on this earth for 1000 yrs.

of COURSE we will eat in heaven. Remember, the DEAD will be resurrected into NEW, PERFECT bodies, and those still living will be "translated" into new and perfect bodies.

Afer the Resurrection, those who believe in Christ (names written in the Book of Life) will continue to exist on The New Earth, where Heaven (The New Jerusalem) is located. those whose names are NOT listed in the Book of Life ( the unbeleivers) will be sent to Hell.

Now, given new and perfect bodies, it follows that some sustenance will be needed, but the bible ALSO says (in Revelation) that GOD HIMSELF will provide all the sustence that the world needs. is this in a physical sens or in supernatural sense, we don't know.

Thereofore, we can assume that we will eat, not because we NEED to, but because we WANT to. lLl the food stuffs will be perfect and tasty, and we can eat for culinary enjoyment, not for sustenance.

Yes we shall eat in the kingdom.

    Revelation 2:7

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

    Revelation 2:17 (Whole Chapter)

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

    Psalms 78:25

24And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.

25Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full.

26He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.

27He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:

28And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.

    29So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;

If they ate angels food in the old testament that is an indication that angels eat in heaven.

Sure we will , will we have to eat to stay alive no , why wouldn't we want a piece of fruit now and then even Christ sat and walked and ate , and even had fish .
