What's the weather like in Portland around late September?

Not much difference. But in the NW things can change by the hour.

Some for the good, some for the bad.

Last week was forcasted rain all weekend. Well, we drove to the coast and Saturday was scattered showers here and there, and Sunday was sunny and warm! It was great.

However, I have experienced the opposite too.

Plan for both types of weather and things will be OK.

According to the farmer's alamac a couple years ago, the weather is generally mild and dry around the 20th. I know this because I checked it out when I picked the 24th of 2005 as my wedding date. From 2002 to I believe 2007, there was no rain on that day, and little to none on the surrounding days.

Its starting to get a little colder but it should still be t-shirts and shorts weather... but i will wear shorts for a while even when it is cold i just don't notice it till its really cold like ice on the windshield weather

Beautiful. Late summer in Portland is my favorite time of year. Could be a chance of rain though.

Last year was oddly warm longer. Its normally starting to rain late september.

actually september and may are my favorite months,

september 20th it would not be uncommon for it to get 80 degrees during the day.

Fairly warm and dry.. but you will just have to check ahead, because thats ussualy when the weather starts to change.
