Which of these two types of Americans do you think is more likely to post on Yahoo Answers politics category?

Person A: Someone who cares only about American interests. The person could care less about civilian deaths caused by the U.S. military in the Middle East. The person is obviously prejudice but doesn't understand what he or she calls "pride" is really a form of elitism. The person has blindly imbibed the notion that life for human beings is no more than a survival of the fittest. The only thing that matters to this person is how for the U.S.A. "might equals right." The person pretends to care about freedom but is actually more interested in supporting double standards that give the U.S. unfair advantages over other nations when it comes to foreign policy. This is also often someone who thinks the more you can shoot off your gun the more freedom you have. Needless to say, higher education is often absent.

Person B: Someone with genuine compassion for all human beings. This person cares more about world peace than about world dominance. This person knows that just because you decide to label something a "war" does not mean that civilian deaths can also simply be excused as "collateral damage." This person does not think that when the government acts in a manner to help its people in addition to big business the country is not now threatened with becoming communist. This person has enough education to understand that the term "socialism" does not present the kind of threat commonly implied in the U.S. since the Cold War. This person knows the U.S. has allies whose governments function even better than the U.S. in the form of a "social democracy." This person does not believe violence can be an acceptible means to an end and rejects any form of Machiavellian politics.

    Person C

A person who cares about the Civilian deaths in any War,but will not choose to despise his own Country because it defends the best interests of its Citizens. And a person who realizes, from the many examples in History that often those who seek peace at all costs, cause far more suffering than those who recognize a threat and deal with it,regardless of how hard or distasteful that job might be.A person who cares deeply about Freedom, but isn't about to sacrifice his own,out of some misguided sense of "fairness".As for Violence this person might very much wish to avoid it if possible, but will recognize that it is an unfortunate fact that violence may be the only means to an acceptable end.He will not sacrifice the lives or safety of himself or his family in order to avoid doing violence to protect them, nor would he expect his leaders to sacrifice the lives or safety of his fellow Americans in order to avoid violence.

Person C: Someone who cares about all of humanity, particularly proud of Americans who actively support its original goal of individual freedom and oppose any sources, both foreign and domestic to bring it to tyranny. This kind of person is wise enough to see through the facade of two party politics, liberals who are stupidly being led to the trough of government control, and neo-cons who are blinded by orchestrated events that lead them to think that there is eminent threats everywhere. This type of person would be adequately termed a libertarian.

    C. This person is a pragmatist. He is educated to know history well enough to understand that no country ever taxed and spent itself into prosperity. This person understands that although he may have the best of intentions and genuine compassion for all human beings, there will come a time when war is inevitable. It has always been this way and will always be this way. This person realizes that violence is sometimes unavoidable, as it is brought into the situation by someone other than himself. It must either be met in kind, or capitulated to. This person keeps up with current events and realizes that most European countries recently criticized our country's ambitious spending plan as going too far.

I think you've molded a lot of people into a neat, little pagage that probably applies to few. However, I'd say both are just as likely to post, as I've seen postings representing both viewpoints.

And, Wadesxfile: There are 10 kinds of people in the world -- those who understand binary numbers and those who don't.

Both are pretty extreme types, and there probably aren't a lot of either. I mean, you're prettymuch talking jackbooted thugs vs naive dilitantes, there. Extremists are attracted to public discussions, though. So a few of them shouting back and forth at eachother can make it look like a forum is crowded with crazies, when, in fact, most of the folks reading it are probably a lot more reasonable.

Person B. Even though I believe that you are probably in the category of person A, you did a fair job of describing the person B character.
