The NBA does have one it's the NBDL the National Basketball Development League but they also have contracts with quite a few other leagues and one i know of is the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) which has been restarted within the last couple of years after Isiah Thomas bought the league ran it into the ground and it went belly up.

As for the NFL, they really should embrace some new leagues like the AAFL and UFL for it will give players a chance to regain their shine and potentially be offered NFL contracts. I surely wished the "New" USFL would also get off the ground it had all kinds of news going looked promising and now poof nothing and it's really sad

The NFL just shut down NFL Europa last year, which was the official development league of the NFL, because there was no need for it with the plethora of playing options in the Americas (AFL/Indoor football, CFL) and because there was no real interest in the product outside of Germany. This guy doesn't have a real connection to the NFL, he is just saying what he'd like to see his league become. I don't see this being any more successful than any other attempt to create another Outdoor league here in the US (USFL, XFL, AAFL).

One reason in football is just that college football is so huge. But I'd love to see a farm/minor league system. If your running back is struggling, you can send him down to the minors for a few games, and if your NFL team suffers an injury, you can call someone up from the farm team.

I'd love to see a system like that. It makes so much sense, it's ridiculous. You sure wouldn't see NFL teams dealing with so many draft busts that way. They could stick their draft picks on a farm team to develop them first and see how they're going to work out.

because in MLB and NHL they want there players to develope with practice for better potential, the NBA and NFL is more of a you have talent so you'll start this year, which is why there are so many immature young players in those sports.

honestly its because baseball is a sport where you can't just come in and help out your team immediately it's a sport that has to be learned and mastered and that can't be done just in college where as in football and basketball you have to be really skilled to play at the major league level however if you are you can come in and play straight out of college and help your team out.
