Who thinks Winona Ryder did not belong in the new Star Trek Movie?
I left my prejudices at home and took the movie for what it was and it was damn good. The only two things I had an issue with was the love interest with Spock and Uhura and of course Winona Ryder.
She was Spocks Mom. Oooo I was so mad to see her play that role.

they needed his mother and she was a perfect age for it.

I thought that Winona was OK for that role. I had an issue with Spock and Uhura too. But this is an alternate reality of a sort. At the end Vulcan was gone. In the rest of the shows and movies Vulcan is still there. This kinda opens things up for things to be different.

I like her, and I didnt mind her in it, but if I were you I would take pleasure in her character dying in the movie
