What does it mean when you stop having "Make Up sex"?

When a couple stops having make up sex after having a fight, what does that mean? Is the issue still simmering or is one the two still pissed?

I've always thought that "make up sex" is a bad pattern to get into. Maybe it seems more exciting and passionate when emotions are still running high. Maybe it's meant as a reassurance that the two people still love each other even though they've had a big fight.

But some of the other possible dynamics can be really dysfunctional. Is he asserting control over her in this way, since she stands up to him in an argument? Is she trying to calm him down by letting him settle his frustrations? Are they starting to stage unnecessary fights just to produce a big sex scene?

The issues in some fights are too serious to be settled in this way. It just postpones coming to grips with the problem. The couple would do well to recognize this, and develop some additional ways of dealing with differences. It's a more mature thing to do, and will lead to a more stable life together, even without so many fireworks.

You don't always have to have sex after an argument. I have never had sex after a fight. Perhaps the fight killed any mood, good or bad.

All love shifts and changes.... I don't know if you can be wholeheartedly in love all the time.
