Married couples w/ kids: Any ideas for a date night?

Need some good ideas for date night...kind of tired of the regular dinner and a movie thing. We don't really do the bar scene.

How about reversing it and have a night in with out the kids. Send the kids out for an overnight. Stay in have a nice Candle light dinner in maybe delivered so you don't have to cook, or cook together then just enjoy each other like you could before the kids. Explore known and maybe forgotten private fun, any where and any way you both decide at the time.

After all isn't alone time your seeking. Out to dinner and movie are all so public.

I think that most marriages loose the romance, because of time schedules and kids and we just have so many things going on in life with work and family . We forget the simple things like saying how much you care and appreciate each other. I always liked simple things like going for a drive, or going to a park in the evening , laying on a blanket and talking. Not taking each other for granted and saying I am sorry. I used to make a late candle light dinner when the kids were asleep and we would dance, it was great . Going to dinner to a romantic hideaway and just being together is great. Sometimes going to a club and dancing the night away is fun and not expensive either.

Most cities and small towns have great Concerts on the green. Some times it nice being outside and around people and the energy. Bring a blanket. Art shows, live theater is always an experience.

    I don't mean a rock concert situation.
