Writing a Novel - what font and font size and spacing?

Hi -

I've written a novel but what do agents and publishers like in ways of font styles, size of font and spacing. After a scnnopsis how do they like a book to be sent to them - disc, peg or hard copy? What about printing double sided or do they prefer single sided printing???

Help - please

Thanks -

If you are serious, you have to get serious.

If you would like to have your work or manuscript considered for publication by a major book publisher, you work with an established literary agent. Each agency has manuscript submission guidelines. You may wish to refer to The Literary MarketPlace (the LMP), a reference guide that contains a listing of literary agencies. It can be found in most libraries. Another excellent source is The Writer's Market, which you should be able to find in a local bookstore or library. You can also visit their Web site at http://www.writersdigest.com/ for more information.

Do your homework and determine your audience, and which publishing houses sell to that market. Find the criteria that each publishing house requires, and send them what they want.

The second link 9parentingpress) has a bunch of questions that are representative of the questions any publishing house will ask you to answer in a letter of inquiry to the PH in which you provide the answers to them.

The last link (ehow com) answers your simple questions.

What you need to find out is far more than "disc, peg or hard copy, double sided or single sided printing."

:-D Many publishing houses will not even look at a manuscript that is not submitted by an agent. If you are serious, get an agent.
