Is 90% of happiness in the smile?
Are people searching too much for happiness in their lives? All that is required is to exercise the smile and to set the chemical reaction in the brain into motion. Take it easy.

CAUTION: scientist attempting to answer a philosophy question!
I don't think it's possible to search for too much happiness. Surely whole basis of existence is to provide the means for us to do what we enjoy, and therefore to be happy. Much more than smiling can give you a "feel good" vibe. For some, it's an adrenaline rush that comes with extreme sports, extreme lives and extreme choices. For others it's the profound safety that comes with the knowledge or realisation that you are loved, cared for and desired. People also find fulfillment in material possessions, property, vehicles and expensive items to give them a sense of worth and indirectly purpose. Most find joy in the simplest things, routine, familiar faces, and those silly moments when you're laughing with a friend and can no longer remember what it was that made you both laugh so.
Happiness is far more than just smiles, it's the joy to be found in life itself. After all, we can only as happy as the life we lead :)

Interesting question.
There is a definite link between the smile and the mind.
Yes, people do search too much for happiness...as well as for love, purpose, "meaning", and any other positive.
My grandmother used to say that all it takes to be happy is four things...eat right, play, sleep and smile. Basics....no fancy gadgets, no dependence on others, no tricks, gimmicks. Just that....eat, play, sleep and smile. I spent a lot of time wondering how she could have been so simplistic. When I finally got it, I was flabbergasted. It isn't simplistic at all...its just good, basic common sense.
Eat right....benefit? Better health. Play. Benefit, relaxation of the body and mind, destressing. Sleep, well, that's obvious. Smile? Benefits, you feel it in every fibre of your being. The physical, as well as the spiritual.
I'm with you...take it easy. Don't search, just accept.

Happiness lies in the simplest things/actions.
A smile, a hug, a pat etc overflow with happiness...not just 90%, a lot more than that.
Even if a smile doesn't do you any thing good to you when you are extremely sad, but it does wonders to people who witness it.
and happiness also means keeping others happy. isn't it?

Happiness is really just determined by how successful you walk away from life's challenges. And how your wants & aspirations are being fulfilled. (Yes I took that from Sims, but it still applies.) If you're pretty good at handling life's challenges then you'll be pretty happy. If you're not so good, then life will seem very challenging and difficult, leaving you pretty unhappy.

My brain is a vending machine and it is broken because everyone wants a snicker and all the HoHo's and Smarties and Dum-Dums are rotting in the case.
Why have a whole vending machine (complex emotive brain) if all you want is a snicker's dispenser???

No i cant agree sorry, i always smile but it doesn't mean im happy.
And the littlest things would make me happy,i don't want money, or fame or riches, i just want to feel safe and wanted.

Only a dentist driving a fully paid-for Cadillac would push that line.
