Is it possible to lose 55 pounds in 24 weeks? How?
"Miss.englishblabber" is about 176 pounds, big bone structure for an Asian descent and 5'3.
"Miss.englishblabber" needs to lose 55 pounds.
I've worked out before and have gone down to 143 but have gone back up after I came home from a year of being away in Italy. Over the next two years I've gained back 35 and added 20 pounds. Bad choice of food and a busier lifestyle than usual because of my teaching.
After watching reruns of Biggest Loser recently, and have become amazed over and over how those 200 - 300 pounders lose 50 pounds at the very least, I told myself "Why can't I do just that?!"
Any good advice out there? I might be able to spare 1-2 hours a day of my time during weekdays.
Here are the activities that I've done in the past. Perhaps you might be able to help me make a good 5 day workout in a week in less than 45 minutes.
-Pilates (20 minutes)
-Climbing stairs (20 times up and 20 times down on a 15 steps flight)
-Power walk (30 minutes)
-Walking (30- 45 minutes)
-Swimming (30 minutes worth of 15 meter laps)
-Dance Revolution (45 - 120 minutes I consider this exercise because it really makes me sweat like fat in a sauna. I've done 2 hours as a regular exercise 6 years ago.)
-Tai Chi (20 minutes)
I appreciate you reading this blabber.

55 pounds in 24 weeks is a very good stretch goal. The recommended goals for a healthy weight loss is about 2 lbs a week. This leaves you at 48 lbs over 24 weeks. If you are really strict about following a healthy diet and exercise program during this time you might see more weight loss, however don't be discouraged if you don't!
One of the things to remember about the Biggest Loser is that the people on that show have a lot more resources at their disposal than the average person, are medically supervised, and also spend a heck of a lot of time in the gym (2-8+ hours a day). So they are of course going to see some extreme weight loss in one week. Just remember 2 lbs a week is a very high and acceptable weight loss goal for real life.
One of the best ways to attain this is to mix up your routines with some cardio and weight training.
A lot of women are scared that lifting heavier weight will make them turn into manly looking women but this couldn't be further from the truth. Those body building female are definitely far from the norm. So don't be scared of the weights! I would recommend from personal use the Body for Life high intensity work-outs (require a lot less time than the normal endurance type of training people tend to do). You can view the weight-loss information for free at their website, or buy the book if your want but it is not necessary.
Of course make sure you check with your own doctor before you start any new work-out program, as you may have some special conditions you weren't previous aware of to help tailor your activities so you don't injure yourself!
Good luck and remember to have fun!
Source(s): Body for life has a proven high intensity workout program, adn while they recommend the use of supplements (and require it if you want to enter their competition, a regular healthy diet which they provide examples of are perfectly acceptable as well!) http://bodyforlife.com/ - 1 decade ago
Found this article, thought it might help.
Don’t get stuck on the scale. Many people lose weight at a somewhat erratic pace; they’ll drop two pounds one week, nothing for two weeks then another two pounds the following week. After all of your hard work, it can be frustrating when weight loss slows or even stops. But remember, hardly anyone loses weight at a regular, consistent rate. If it helps, limit your weigh-ins and gauge your weight-loss by using other measures, such as how much energy you have or whether your clothes feel looser.
While it’s good to keep your eyes on the prize—your goal weight—don’t forget to celebrate the small successes along the way. Every five or 10 pounds you lose, brings you that much closer to your goal weight. Being able to go longer or harder during a workout is an indication that you’re improving your fitness level. So, try to stay focused and enjoy the journey to a healthier and happier you.

Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we've known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.
Cut back on the bad carbs. Carbs come in two main forms, high glycemic and low glycemic. Your new lifestyle should include the low glycemic type of carbs. These keep your insulin levels on an even keel throughout the day. You can also eat all the green carbohydrates you would like, green beans, broccoli and lettuce are great for you and include fiber.
Increase your fiber intake, but make sure you do this slowly. I seem to never get enough fiber throughout the day. So I add a fiber supplement in the morning. A high fiber diet not only makes you feel better, but also helps push fat out the body quicker.
if you want to some suggestions what can help you.there are some ides to help you

Losing weight can be a huge struggle. But FIT can help you finally win the battle of the bulge. Being overweight increases your chances for health problems and decreases your ability to do things. Overcoming it isn't easy, but using FIT as part of your weight control program can help.
FIT fits perfectly with your weight control program.
To reduce your weight, you have to eat less and move more. But FIT can also help. If you take FIT gels before two meals, you may increase the effectiveness of your weight control program. That's because it contains an active ingredient called hydroxycitric acid (HCA) that comes from the fruit and rind of garcinia cambogia.
Prevent your body from storing unused carbohydrates.
Clinical studies have shown that HCA prevents your body from storing unused carbohydrates and inhibits fat production. In other words, it helps you win the battle between how many calories you consume and how many calories you burn. Whenever you win this battle, you lose weight.
Eat less, move more, and lose weight.
Another benefit of HCA is that it is a mild appetite suppressant. If taken 30-60 minutes before a meal, it can help you eat less. If you eat less and move more, you can win the battle of the bulge. And few things benefit your health more than losing those extra pounds. Studies show that weight loss helps maintain healthy blood pressure, improves sleep, and can add years to a person's life.
What can FIT do for you
Now with Hoodia
o May help suppress the appetite*
o May inhibit fat synthesis*
o May increase the burning of fat*
o Supports healthy reduction in your body weight*
o Helps the body's normal production of serotonin*
o Can increase the effectiveness of a weight loss program over diet and exercise alone*
