What's Wrong With My Printer?

I've had a PictureMate printer for two or three years now and have never experienced a problem until recently. For about a year now I haven't used it so there hasn't been any ink in it, I got a cartridge of ink one month ago and it has not been opened until a week ago when I put it in the printer.

The first image that printed was completely green, the second one was so faded you could barely make anything out, and now it doesn't print anything. The ink wasn't dried up, and it was put in the right way, so what's wrong with it?

Update:

I'm not sure how to reply to answers on here >.< I have both black and color cartridges so it's not just one in there, I was worried about that too but there are two in there. I'll try giving the print head a whipe down and see if that helps. Thanks!

You may need some more ink or colours. Mine did that and I found out I was missing a color. Check to see if you have one missing. If not check to see if the inks dried out and that they are inserted properly. If you have a recent rinter it will usually tell you if there are any errors when you press the help button. Putting your printer in the sun will dry out ink by the way. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Try using a web cloth with distilled water and wipe the print head clean. It may have just dried up and is blocking the ink from getting through.

Most printers have both a black and color cartridge compartment. If you only installed one cartridge, you would have this problem. You need both cartridges installed for the printer to work.

    The print head is dry.

With inkjet printers you cant leave them idle for long periods of time.

Use google to find some solutions.
