Agreed. 100%.
Why?
Because, I mean, if it doesn't kill you, you eventually heal from those wounds [experiences such as backstabbing, betrayel and heartbreak] and papercuts [mistakes that you have made in the past]. It's like being a fighting warrior out of a fantasy novel... You keep fighting and fighting and fighting [living your life], and then you run into this enemy [the mistake, or the event that leads up to getting the "wound"] and you get hurt. Let's say this happens all the time to this warrior... He eventually heals from each and every wound or accident, and every time he does, he comes out a much stronger fighter. He gets stronger and stronger and becomes more able to fight more stronger beasts and enemies.
Same goes for someone who experiences so many things in general in life. You cry. You weep. You beat yourself up for your mistakes, no matter how numerous... And each and every time you walk out the front door, soaking up the sun, ready for another day of school or work... All healed... You come out as a much stronger person than you were before.
And it's actually pretty cool to witness someone go through such a psychological phenomena. =)
Source(s): Me, believe it or not. =) Not only have I witnessed many friends and family go through such things, but also myself... Many a time. - Anonymous1 decade ago
I agree with the idea of that statement. What about if a shark attacks someones off the coast of Australia and has their legs for lunch? Now that person is not any stronger in physical sense, but maybe he becomes stronger in spirit and character.
Oh, I just started off pessimistic but turned that around. Damn't.
"Poor little Tink Tink"! Haha.

Agree. A really bad analogy is that some girl I know that use to be terrified of roller coasters rode Goliath at six flags and now she'll ride anything.
It didn't kill her, and now she's fearless ;D
But it depends on the person, some people can't take whatever horrible thing happens to them, I surprisingly can.

Disagree. If you get hit by a car and are paralyzed for life then you're clearly not stronger, you'd be better off dead.

I disagree.
If we want to make ourselves stronger, our thoughts must be precise and clear about our needs, areas of change, factors that can change us for the better etc.
Chasing 'vague' ideas as suggested by the question will make us simpletons !
I've answered ur question with sincerity.
My strong disagreement with ur question does not contain any intention of hurting ur feelings.

Disagree - If you got ran over by a car, and you lost feeling in both of your legs BUT you survived ... in the physical sense, you would be weaker as you can't walk anymore.

I disagree marshmallows can not kill you and perhaps you can enlighten me on how marshmallows make you stronger lol?
- Your turn to rebuttle in this most heated of debates.

Sure. Even if it feels like you're dying at the time, no matter what it'll be okay. And because of the bad things that have happened like mistakes or pain, everyone can learn something from it!

Oh definitely. But life is what you make of it, right. If you choose, those things could kill you internally as well, if you don't learn from them and take them into a positive light.
