The sawasdee hotels or inns seem nice. I have not stayed at one from the Sawasdee chain. The hotel reviews only give it a 3 star satisfaction for a 2 star hotel or inn. I don't normally stay in 2 star hotels, they tend to be a bit sparse in any luxuries. If you are on a budget and need to stay in the Khao San area for whatever reason then the Sawasdee Khaosan Inn is good. I find that the Khaosan area, you have to take a taxi or tuk tuk to go to place else in Bangkok. I prefer staying near a subway or Skytrain station.

    If that is an option

There are 3 other hotels with 4 and 5 star satisfaction ratings in your budget

Hotel Woodlands Inn in the Silom area

Refill Now in the Sukhumvit area

Best Bangkok House, in the Pratunam area near Siam Square, of these I would trust the reviews from Best Bangkok House, there were 40 reviews to read.

Again accessible? Depends on your definition. All places are accessible by taxi and such. It depends on whether you want to spend time in a taxi. I find that I can take the sky train then a taxi if necessary to most anywhere in Bangkok and not spend alot of time sitting.

    Good luck

Since Thai people can not stay there(foreigner only). I will answer your question. It is a nice Guest House, not a fine Hotel. I prefer the one on Rambutri IMHO, more old style Khaosan rd and Fun.(although these days the whole place has changed).

It is a very "Youthful" area. Crazy parting going on. You didn't mention anything about yourself so I can't advise you on the level of how "nice" it is. Read up about the Khaosan rd area(the Backpacker area of BKK).

I'd been there during my trip in bangkok-rattanakosin island. This hotel has standard facility, dont expect to have the same as what Marriott offers you. Of course anyone who goes to Khaosan are not looking for luxurious thing ;p

For sure, the place is accesible to tourist spots there, awful khaosan road, and grand palace Wat Phra Kew.

Hope you enjoy your trip and have much fun there

As the other write stated don't expect much from the hotel except for a place to sleep. The area is in the old part of the city near the Grand Palace and Wat Po. Khao San Road is the backpacker area. A long street with bars, guest houses, tour agents, internet cafes, small shops for gifts and restaurants. It is however, not accessible to other areas of the city except by taxi. No skytrain or subway in this area. Here is a website for Khao San Road http://www.khaosanroad.com/

£a hundred is plenty and then replace relax while in Thailand. you may desire to tell your financial company you will Thailand and an approx volume you may spend there in any different case they might freeze your account and calls are high priced no longer forgetting 6hr time diff from united kingdom. ATM's are everywhere yet you will get charged a hundred and fifty Baht for each withdrawal. - Max volume you will get out at one time is 20,000 Baht. merely take out what you like for the day / night and leave something in hotel secure or deposit container. Have a mind-blowing time contained in the land of smiles. you need to get between 40 9-50 Baht for a £ in Thailand
