You might want to check the cleaning label if it has one.

I have washed in the machine on gentle cycle, fabric softener, and hang outside, or dryer, on the lowest heating, have done this with many

and not have them hurt. You may also consider the dry cleaner........m

edit: cool, or warm water..regular detergent

Use the highest water level possible for your machine. Use the most delicate cycle on the machine. Use cold or lukewarm water setting. Just put a fraction of laundry soap in the wash. Use a normal spin speed (if you have a choice). After the cycle, hang dry over a line or other support until dry. If it is too wrinkled after hang drying, do not iron it. Just put it in a dryer on low heat together with a slightly humid napkin (cloth) for 25 minutes to de-wrinkle it.

The thing to be aware of with electric blankets is to not break or damage the system through too much mechanical action (washing, spinning, tumbling). You can break the wires and thus make your blanket unusable.

A professional dry cleaner can do this service for you. They will know not to dry clean it but to wash it as above for you.
