Did you see that RAND Paul (Ron's son) is forming an exploratory c'ee to run for Senate in Kentucky? Thoughts?
Chuck, yeah, I know, me too, for long term. In the end, only his record will matter. However, for this senate race he only has to be better than all the rest and I'm pretty confident of that. And he was brought up right.
Chris G, he campaigned all across the country for his father and truly understood the issues. There is a youtube of him in Montana that is particularly good on the economy, warning of the crash. The last link above is his new campaign web page with an issues page. (Since it just went up last night it will likely be refined.)
Chuck, if you want to take the time, here is a 20 minute speech he gave for his Dad during the campaign a year ago, before the crash, and if you listen all the way through the question and answer section, he really does understand the economic issue, at minimum.
Chuck, yeah me too for long term support. In the end only his own record will matter. He is head of a taxpayer rights group and a cofounder of a charity eye doctor group, which seem in line with his Dad beyond the fact that they say the same thing on current issues (including the economy).
For me, for this race, he only has to be better than all the rest running, and I have no doubt at all about that, though.

I'm going to have to do more research on him to be honest. While I've seen a few things and like what I've seen so far, I need to do a more in-depth look at him. Thanks for the links.
EDit: Thanks again for the additional links. He's definitely someone to watch for the future for higher (much higher) office. I think it's a positive that he's going to get his education in the state trenches. That tells me a lot about his character. I'll probably be using a drool bib and a Gramper by the time he makes it, but he DOES have what I call "The Look".
His Mom and Dad did a good job.

I observed him interviewed on "The Rachel Maddow teach" some months in the past. He seems particularly clever and coherent. would desire to've inherited it from his mom. or perhaps it skipped a technology. or perhaps regardless of Ron's have been given skipped Rand's technology. the two way, he's a step up (a minimum of) from his father. And he would unquestionably be a step up from Jim Bunning: great pitcher in his time, yet a political lunatic.

"But you know what? Gridlock's not that bad. There was some restraint with gridlock." Rand Paul
AMEN!!! Not since Thomas Jefferson (and Ron Paul) has this wisdom been resurrected so effortlessly!
Even Reagan - owing mostly to his Hollywood and early radio influences - resorted more to 'them-vs-us' humor. As vital as disagreement in government is, had Reagan spoken of it, extensively, those quips would've lost their intended (guffaw) impact. (And Reagan WAS a funny guy... wrote almost all his own speeches... including jokes).
But this is the 21st century. Our still-fragile experiment in self-government is in its "terrible two's"... no time to disregard crucial disciplinary measures.

Better vote for a surgeon than a lawyer.....
the first one is used to do his best to let see the patients
the second one do his best to speak with a fork tonge and turn blind the voters!

Hopefully he's just like his father.
Excellent. I was starting to get worried. Dr. Ron Paul is getting on in and years and he probably only has one more run at president left. Maybe his son can pick up the torch and at some point we can actually get a POTUS that is a Constitutionist.

Thank God we still have people in politics with a brain, instead of puppets and sheeple.

Yes. Let's hope he wins the primary so he can be stomped in the general election.
