If Nancy Pelosi was told about water boarding back then and reported it to the general public conservatives would have said she was a traitor for revealing classified information. If she doesn't admit to hearing about the cons will say she is a liar. if she does admit to it then she is culpable for the torture that was ordered by the Bush Administration. The cons say she is guilty without even having been at the briefing. Sooner or later the truth comes out but right now too many cons are just assuming she's guilty because she is a liberal, which is insane.

Well, I look at it this way, if republicans want to say that Pelosi knew about torture and was not speaking up, then they would have to admit it was torture, so either way they lose. If Pelosi was lying then send her up a river without a paddle, Im not going to turn a blind eye just because shes a democrat. She needs to be held accountable, just like Cheney and Bush should be held accountable. But most people here dont want accountability.

If Pelosi knew about 'torture' and was not speaking up, then she (and every other Democrat) that wants to blame the Republicans but play as if they knew "nothing about it" are hypocrites for pushing the issue, and it's going to blow up in her/their faces.

If Pelosi and other Democrats are lying and they send them up a river without a paddle, Democrat supporters should not want to turn a blind eye to the Democrats. If Democrats want President Bush and Republicans to be held accountable, Democrats will as well. But they do not want TRUE accountability. It is a dangerous game they are playing.

They love to push anything as long as it will pull the focus onto the democrats. Nancy Pelosi should not lie if she is. I am a democrat but dont agree with her if she is lying. There are always ways to get around things instead of lying about it. I am not saying she is lying but she should know by now it doesnt help to get caught up in deception of any kind. e as democrats were already in a great position compared to the republicans and if she is caught up in a lie it will only hurt us.I hope she is telling the truth.

Of course! We're seeing "Rove" style spin and "re-branding" to taint any investigation as a partisan witch hunt. We're also seeing the classic "bait and switch" routine, selling a convoluted and false "logical argument" that 'lying about torture' is worse than the actual torture. If successful, it not only deflects attention away from the crime of torture but also uses "witch hunt" style tactics to label an investigation as a "witch hunt". Notice too how the issue of war crimes is diluted by shifting focus to "What is torture?" and "Did it work?" and "Who knew?" as the core questions, further deflecting attention and responsibility away from and "justifying" the actions of the Bush administration that developed and implemented the torture techniques.

If Pelosi is guilty of lying, I have not problem with prosecuting her. I do however have a problem with making her a scape goat for the Bush administration policies, and that is what appears to be happening. I say let's investigate them all... Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rice, Rumsfeldt, Pelosi, etc. Focusing the blame on Pelosi, but not on the Bush administration as well, is synonymous with excusing a murderer who pulls the trigger by prosecuting the manufacturer of bullets.
