How fast does hair grow? How much longer will my hair be in 6 weeks time?
I'm trying to grow out a haircut I didn't like, and I'm wondering how long it will be when I go to my first festival of this year.
I have fairly straight caucasian hair.

I have heard that hair grows on average 6 inches per year. This differs from person to person for reasons of health and genetics. But it's probable you will only see around 1-2 inches by 6 weeks.
There are a few things you can do to help your hair grow quicker:
- Take a multivitamin every day.
- Work on your general health
- Trim it regularly to avoid it breaking with split ends.
- Avoid split ends by using deep conditioning treatments, being careful when you brush your hair, not blowdrying it etc.
- use a natural hair growth shampoo
- Take some hair vitamins
- Rub olive oil in the hair
- Change your diet to include lots of protein
There is no proven way to make it grow quicker, but these are some things that I've read that may work for some people. Worth a try!

healthy rate of hair growth is 1-2 CM a month. an inch is 2.2 CM.
hair cuts are recommended every 4-6 weeks to maintain the shape and style of the cut.
if your really wanting it to grow out, if you don't take a daily multivitamin, maybe you should start. there are certain ones that are supposed to promote hair growth, but i'm not sure which ones, and how true it really is. i have seen people suggest hair oil and certain shampoos as well.
a safe and natural option (free to boot!) give yourself a scalp massage every time you wet your hair down. i started doing this when i was having some dandruff problems because it breaks up the skin cells and increases blood flow to the area. since i started doing that the rate that my hair grows has increased. give it a try. worst case, you wasted some time. best case, your hair grows faster and healthier.
