Should I see a doctor if I have sunburn blisters?
I need to know if I need to go to the doctor.. I got sunburned on my shoulders and it started peeling then I got sunburned again over that.. Im an idiot for not wearing sunscreen I know.. but now its blistered and it hurts to even put my arms up.. Should I go to the doctor or should I just keep putting aloe vera on it and wait for it to heal?
Also, im not really in a lot of pain.. just when something rubs against it or something or move my arms too much it hurts.. but im not in constant pain thank goodness.. but this is the worst sunburn ive ever had
And do these bad sunburns cause permanent scarring or damage to the skin??

Yes, you need to see a doctor. You have a second degree burn and that requires medical intervention. Do NOT use any home remedies on a second degree burn. They are highly prone to infection. The doctor will probably prescribe silver sulfadiazine (also called SSD and silvadene) to put on the burn. This will reduce pain and prevent infection.
Stay out of the sun until this burn is FULLY healed and that will likely be 4-6 weeks. Use a high SPF sunscreen when you do go back out. Protect your skin. A tan is not worth all this pain and suffering.

My friend and I stayed out in the sun for five hours three summers ago. We were in the water, in the 100 degree sun, for five hours. If I had a picture I would show you: I had blisters EVERYWHERE. They were on my neck, and half of my back, and just loaded on my shoulders. I had not ever been in such pain, and I am very accident prone.
I had my sister apply aloe vera on every day as gently as she possibly could, for two weeks. In the morning after my shower and at bedtime. I took aspirin for the pain, and I never saw a doctor. Sleep with sleeves, though! The blisters pop when you sleep, and drain all over your sheets. I learn this the hard way.

Ouch. Yes I would see a doctor. They can dress it for you to try to prevent an infection. They can also give you something for the pain if it's hurting very badly.
You still should see a doctor, even if the burn doesn't hurt; to prevent infection. Burns are notorious for becoming infected easlily. A serious sunburn that causes blisters may cause scarring, and can definitely cause skin damage (e.g. skin cancer).

hi there,
yes i would go to the dr cause they can give you something stronger to use on it and pain meds too........
in the meantime you can take tylenol or advil or whatever you normally take for headaches/pain.......
you can also you tea on it, make a cup of tea with no sugar or anything in it only tea and water, let it cool (or if you dont feel like waiting just seep a tea bag in warm/cool water) and dip a washcloth in the tea and hold it on the sunburn/blisters ever so gently.........
there is something in tea that makes the sunburn feel better........
i also just read on the web that mustard is good for sunburn?!?! they say there is something in mustard that is a natural antiseptic......sounds weird, but im just telling you what i read.......
that is some painful stuff you are dealing with, in the future please please please wear sunscreen the ozone layer aint want it used to be.......
i hope you feel better soon

If it hasn't gotten any better then I would say yes see a doctor. DO NOT pop those blisters you'll risk infection.

you dont have a sun burn you have a second degree burn you need they doctor or medical attention
(sunburn 1st degree blisters 2nd degree)
put cold water on it (no ice no aloe vera) and see someone
also vinager takes the heat off nicly might sting but it works wonders (i suggest a cold shower/bath after words)
