Once an infestation has occurred, patience and persistence is the key to ridding the area of bed bugs. It isn't enough to clean the mattresses and launder the sheets. Furniture should be overturned and cleaned. Carpeting, wood molding, door jambs, picture frames, and closets should be inspected as well. Bed bugs can hide behind loose wallpaper, in the crevices between carpets and walls, behind outlet covers, and inside light fixtures, smoke detectors, and even clocks. Removable, washable items can be laundered in very hot water. For those areas or items that cannot be laundered, smaller items can be wrapped in plastic and set in a hot place or in direct sunlight. The key is to raise the temperature to at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit for several hours to kill the eggs and the bugs. Vacuuming and steam cleaning may also be done, but any bags or canisters should be thrown away or emptied outside of the area immediately to prevent another infestation. The best method of removing bed bugs, however, is through a professionally handled treatment.

You have to put your bed/mattress in quarantine for few days. If possible put it under the sun during day time. But changing it with new one is better. Wash all your beddings. Clean your bed room and check for any crack on the wall and floor of your bed room.
Bedbugs resist many pesticides. However as per our experience there is a best way to get rid of this little creatures. Instead of using commercial pesticide you can use "ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL". Bedbugs die in few seconds using isopropyl alcohol.
All cracks in the wall and floor of your bed room must spray with it. Repeat this for few days before setting up your bed room again.
Hope this will help. Regards.

bed bugs stay in the mattress so washing sheets wont help. you can:
1) use a steamer on the mattress
2) bag up the mattress so no air gets out and put it in the sun all day to kill them

I had bedbugs.. omg, they are the worst ,
well..check every inch of your mattress and see if theres black spots..or even them. if so, if you have a house take your mattress outside and leave it there in the sun for like 2 days. and wash your sheets with REALLY REALLY HOT WATER.
if that doesn't work..its time to call the bug inspectors.
goodluckk.

well bedbugs are making a comeback so its likely. also if you do have them you wont see any initially unless youre on the lookout for them. i had/have the same problem. i googled "itching in bed" type searches. and they all led me to bedbugs. i though it was an allergic reaction to something. then one day i said this is crazy!!! im ONLY itching in my bed. If it were detergent, food, etc. it wouldnt only be happening when i'm in bed.
to make a long story short...i put a white sheet on my bed, set my alarm to wake me up at 3am when their most active, I left my light on and went to sleep. When my alarm went off I jumped up, looked at my sheet and saw a teeny tiny red bug on it. I killed it with my finger and if it wasnt for the bug being filled with blood, I wouldve never saw it, because its an off white color. from the pictures i saw on the internet i wouldve never known that bed bugs can be this tiny. It was a baby/nymph bed bug. I know because weeks later I saw a bigger more identifiable one on my dresser.

First get your blankets, covers, pillows anything on there. Then air dry your mattress for bit. Then see what happens.
Then call someone in to check it out.

Why don't you do what any intelligent person would do ~ google "bedbugs", learn about them; what they look like, signs you've been bitten, etc, and make an educated guess as to whether you have bedbugs or just an overactive imagination fueled by reading the article about bedbugs in Yahoo news today...

It may be the detergent that you are using. Try another detergent and see what happens. I think you will be surprised. :)
