Horror Movies: Which kinds scare you? How do you get over them? Scariest horror flick?

See, I'm scared of supernatural and slasher films, with humans in them. Like the Exorcist, The Grudge, etc.

Movies like Chucky don't scare me, because it just seems so un-real. I actually laughed watching some trailers for Chucky.

Anyone else just like me?

I tend to get scared eaisly from horror movies. Even though I know they arn't real. You know what helps me get over watching a scary movie? Looking up the movie on IMDb and looking at the actors who played the killers looking all happy and normal. Makes me remember it's not real.

So, I wanna know three questions.

1) What kinds of horror movies scare you the most and why?

2) How do you get over being scared?

3) What is the scariest horror flick you've seen?

Thanks in advance. :)

    1) The ones that scare me the most are the ones that are the nastiest (ex. Hostel) and more on the realistic side (ex. Outbreak).

    2) Time and lots of it. After years goes by, I tend not to be afraid of them but only two that still freaks me out to this day, The Fly and The Fly II *shudders*

    3) Its either The Fly or The Fly II. Those movies terrified, and I mean terrified, me so much when I was a kid, I couldn't eat or sleep.

    1) Hmm. I agree with you about the Chucky ones, not scary at all and I would say ones that keep me on the edge and actually scare me. Not ones that use loud noises and lots of gore which just makes movies cliche. Don't get me wrong gore, is okay, just not a lot. If all a movie is is gore, then it has no taste.

    2) To get over being scared, I just keep my lights on and watch something normal on tv or listen to music. I'll talk to whoever happens to be around me like family or friends.

    3) The scariest horror movie I've ever seen is probably The Strangers. Probably because it has a really good plot and has a lot of suspense. I actually consider it more of a "terror" film because it's terrifying to think there are people out there that would murder innocent people for no reason at all. If you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend it! :)

I am scared most of movies that have some sort of supernatural entity watching the person who has no idea they are being watched. In movies where you see ghosts in the background and the main characters do not know this. Later on the spirits let their presence be known. I do not know why but it freaks me out. The best example of this and is my favorite scary movie is the underrated movie "Darkness". I came across this on accident and had to go buy it.

The kinds of movies that scare me are also slasher films with lots of gore and blood like Hostel and the Hills Have Eyes. I usually get over them by watching cartoons on disney or cartoon networks just to clear my head. The scariest movie for me is Halloween (the music is so creepy). Its one of my favorite horror flicks despite how much it creeps me out.

    1) Movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hills Have Eyes, or House of Wax. Because it's too bloody and I don't enjoy watching it. It just so... yuck!

    2) I just turn it off and watch some funny movies.

    3) Shutter. But not the hollywood version. I watched the Thailand version and it really scared me.
