Can Spies overcome the 88 point deficit?

I'm hoping that he can, but i'm starting to think it's Haga's to lose.

Can't wait to see him in Salt Lake, going for pole #7.

Spies is magnificent during the superpoles but not so lucky during the races. I think Salt Lake is going to be a good race for Spies and a difficult one for Haga.

@ Ben19 fan: Nori has finally found a way to use the 'Nitro' efficiently on the bike so no more dumb mistakes for him but you can never predict bad luck which Mr Spies knows everything about.

Back to the question, Haga has been very consistent this season always 1st or 2nd on the podium and 1 DNF cuz of a bird :\ It would be very disappointing for him to not win the championship after so far an almost perfect season. I don't think he's going to let that happen.

    Forza Nori!

Nori Haga used to race risking everything in order to win. With this syle he won many races, but fell of the bike quite a few times and scored 0 points in several ocasions. I think this year he is wiser, he will try to score as many points as possible, and try to win, but he is not risking to much as in the past.

If he stays riding as well as he has, and keeps his cool, he will be champion. Right now Ben Spies is under a lot of pressure, while Nori can ease off a little bit and gamble more controlled than Ben.

8 races to go means he has to overcome a 11 pont deficit per weekend. He needs to avoid DNF´s and hope for some bad results for Nori.

We can´t discount Fabrizio, he is ahead of Ben after Kyalami.

Im hoping Fabrizio gets in between Ben (winning) and Nori, taking a few points off him. Its a long way if your only claiming 5 points at a time, 10 per meet. But its still possible. Nori is famous for bad luck too. (I Dont wish any on him.)Dont tell Colette... I truely believe Nori deserves a championship title. Though the last 2 meetings makes me think the Yamaha might be finding teething problems. I didnt really believe the out of fuel story. and it breaking down as Ben was on it. (too early to call out of fuel) seems similar to me.

To answer the question... I hope he can too.

Edit. I just worked out if Ben wins every race left and nori comes second its not enough for Ben. he would only gain 80 points.

I see that Yamaha are blaming a broken gear shifter. Though Cadalora has a point there about the altitude

Its going to be tough I admit.

It seems that Ben can ride the wheels of the Yammy, but it cant keep up with him.

First the fuel and now the shifter. The crash's are not helping him either.

If he does come back and win the title, it will be the come back of the decade.

Nori really is riding well this year, but he has to. He does not have many years left at this game.

He is riding last years title winning bike, so he really cant use the machine for excuses.

Its been a good year so far, and its not over yet !

Ben for the title still me thinks. ( hopes )

[ it is going to be a tall order for Ben but doable, though Nori usually comes on stronger in the second half of the season...

truth is i would really love to see Nori become World Champion he deserves it, and can you imagine the praise back in Japan.. i don't think they've had a World Champion on a big bike before..

just a point about Bens bike breaking down, i remember years ago when they first went to Kyalami, that Foggy had trouble with the Ducati because the race track is at high altitude and they had to make big adjustment to the V Twin has it could not suck enough air in (there was a bit of cheating i think)..perhaps Bens team had similar problems....<^><..
