I believe a lot will happen, but not the end of the world.

The Mayans are the one that predicted the end of the world in December of 2012. Honestly, they couldn't even predict the end of their own civilization so what makes anyone think that the world will end in 2012? No I don't think anything big will happen except for another election and the olympics. Maybe Jesus will come back before then, who knows.

yes many things will happen . I will have to get a new calender . then i will have to remember what year it is . but i think you are referring to the Aztec system that the END IS COMING . NO i do not . I do believe that there will be a realignment of the solar system . as far as when it will be . NO I do not think it will be as we see it . as you may or may not know our calender is way off . the first try was with the Roman calender . and it was way way off . this is why we now use the Egyptian calender . and as good as it is . the Aztec is the only one that we can go on to know where we are in the concept of time . at the moment of the alignment we will know the day in our planets existence . it will be at that time that our view on the cosmos will be tested and proven wrong .

Though the plot is fictional, this scenario has occurred many times in the real world. In 1997 Michael Drosnin published a best-selling book titled "The Bible Code," in which he claimed that the Bible contained a code (hidden in numbers and letters) accurately predicting past world events. Drosnin's work was later refuted, with critics demonstrating that the "meanings" he found were simply the result of selectively choosing data sets from a vast sea of random letters.

Similar "hidden codes" were found in other books such as "Moby Dick" and "War and Peace," demonstrating that any sizeable text can produce such codes if you look long enough.

In psychology, the tendency for the human mind to find coincidences, patterns, and connections in random data is called apophenia.

Apophenia is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data. The term was coined in 1958 by Klaus Conrad,[1] who defined it as the "unmotivated seeing of connections" accompanied by a "specific experience of an abnormal meaningfulness".

    The Olympics

Of course, plenty of things will happen in 2012, and 2013, and 2014, etc.

    But two things won't happen

    Jesus won't come back!

    the world wont end!

has there every been a year where nothing happened? That would mean the world ended in 2011.

Possibly a Pole Shift. Jesus said that their would be an earthquake so powerful in the last days, that one stone will not be left on top of another.
