How to cite a quoted quote?
I'm writing a research paper, and I want to use a quote by Copernicus. However, I found it in a book about the scientific revolution and it is already cited. So in my own paper, should I cite the quote with the book I found it in, or the document the book cited it with? I don't have access to the latter.

Just put in parentheses (the page number, the authors name) for anytime a quote from any book you already cited.
Once you've cited the book, you don't need to cite it again.

You cited the source/the quote where you found it in. If you found it in the book, then it the one you need to cite.

If you're only using the cited part, cite the original author, using the citation your book gives. If you want to take stuff around it use a single ' on either side.
