Some prisons do provide kosher meals.

I personally think that their religious beliefs should be respected and accommodated to everywhere, including prison.

Religious Jews are few vs. the majority of prisoners, but because the Muslim missionaries have been hitting the prisons hard, the Jews can get Halal foods, and the Sunni Muslims' diet is close to kosher, actually, the Sunni Muslims in my neighborhood buy kosher meats and gelatin products.

But it is hard for Jews to get kosher meals, sometimes States will order mealmart frozen dinners, the cheapest they can find with little variations. The only way you can get real good food is for medical reasons, like allergies or salt-free or from kidney failure. It is getting harder for prisons to get even the medical diets, it seems dogs at the pounds get better food.

Humans are humans, and if a Jew gets into legal trouble, from even driving a car without a license will get a Jew in jail more than the average person--check with the statistics in your own state.

They even can't get Passover foods, so each town tries to get collections going so prisoners can get it. We try to visit prisons and get them connected with Chabad that has the network to organizations that help out prisoners. While a Muslim prisoner can get a prayer rug, a Jew can't get tefillin or a tallis, which doesn't make sense.

My thesis for my masters dealt with prison reform and how to eliminate the brutality of guards, fellow prisoners and the lack of security within the systems. Nothing has changed much in 60 years and so many of us have tried to make a dent, but it falls on deaf ears with the States, they don't know how to make long range plans to keep people out to begin with. Horrible for anyone.

First enable me to exaplain what Kosher is. Kosher meals is Rabbinically supervised meals - meaning the meals grew to become into created with kosher components and/or grew to become into created in a koshe way. for this reason, we are conversing approximately meat so - the animal ought to be slaughtered in a Kosher way. it incredibly is an extremely unique quickly slaughtering the place the animal feels the least discomfort or quite much non. So a "Shochet" - a jewish-knowledgeable butcher will might desire to slaugher the animal to ensure that the animal to be kosher. the technique after the animal is killed is termed Salting - the place the blood is drained from the animal - it is likewise accomplished the two by potential of a knowledgeable "Salter" or by potential of the guy paying for the beef. Ofcourse you will get meals in bulks - all you are going to be able to desire to do is stumble on a shochet and by him stumble on a salter and you are going to be able to get a great products of meat for plenty extra fee-effective.

Yes they do. The U.S. prison system accommodates all religions, even Santaria practitioners requesting black pullets to kill for ritual purposes.

I don't know why you're asking this of Orthodox Jews, they certainly aren't the only people keeping Kosher...

Good question. I've thought of that when you see these guys who become Black Muslims/Nation of Islam. If Sheriff Joe Arpaio says it's pork by-products bologna sandwich day, that's what's on the menu,

  • Not in county. They eat what's put in front of them. I know from experience.

In my country, prisoners don't get food at all. Free people can't get enough food to eat so I won't even tell you about how hard it is for prisoners.
