Do you think old cartoons are better then the new ones?

Yup. It's hard to believe that there once was a time that Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network didn't suck.

anime wise >> Not really. Code Geass, Death Note, Elfen Lied are all great and pretty original. Old anime shows are great, but I don't think as a whole there better than new shows.

American cartoon wise >> Yes, defiantly. The new cartoons are all very toned down and it's almost like if there any blood, violence (even cartoon hit on the head with a pan or something violence) is asking to be canceled.

look at the quality of the animation, the cartoons of the 30's - 60's were well written, and had meanings usually polkitical or moral in nature, and the actually cartoons themselves were well produced, meaning the animation was well done, down to each individual frame, instead of every 3 or 5 frames as is today...

the movement was more realistic , more human back then, not as choopy or erratic as is today. the animation back then was more like art, in fact some of the most memorable cartoons like mickey mouse, have been reduced to still frames and hung as art in museums, while the cartoons of today are more like pencil drawings, and don't have the depth the backgorunds of the older stuff.

Can't beat the classic Looney Tunes cartoons but I think cartoons were still entertaining until at least the late-90s...after that they started going downhill.

Yes, they only good cartoons these days are new episodes of old cartoons.

Yes. Too much CGI nowadays. I find real drawing infinitely more impressive than CGI.
