Is Malduni correct after all? With today's win, maybe Jenson Button IS Great! What do you think?

With know-it-alls abounding, (right, M?) perhaps one is finally correct. Jenson Button maintained his cool as would befit a champion, didn't so much as place a wheel wrong, and won the Monaco GP. Granted he started on pole, but with so many turns in so many laps, it's easy for a single momentary mental lapse to translate into catastrophe (just ask Vettel, Kovalainen, or Hamilton).

Jenson kept his cool, maintained his line(s) and drove a very intelligent and skillful race. OK, so I'm forced to bow to the Malduni's superior powers of observation; Jenson Button really is the GREAT Jenson Button. Thanks for opening all our eyes.

Is this guy becoming one of the Greats? What do YOU think? :oD

Update:

Cat- Like you, I don't have a clue as to what your cryptic message implies. But my bet is you're so far off that retreat is your best, only option.

Both Button and the team in general have raised their game this year as soon as they realized they where in with a chance.

As far as Button is concerned he's been driving real well, never put a foot wrong so far but one should not forget it's much easier to keep your cool when you know you have an important advantage.

He's a very experienced racer, has tasted victory in the past and has the fastest car.

For measure Rubens managed to keep the Ferrari's at bay with relative ease, he's not exactly one of F1's hotshots so, well, Jenson obviously had a significant car advantage.

And throughout his career he's shown to be as good as his car so he's been doing an excellent job so far.

Jenson's not one of the F1's greats, yes he's very fast, he's reliable, doesn't seem to have any major weaknesses like ,say, Massa, but on the other hand he lacks that little bit extra that separates the truly great ones, be it their personality on and off the track, blinding speed, passion or whatever makes people think very highly of them.

Looking at the greats, I always had a soft spot for Nigel Mansell so go figure.

Your right Malduni Opps I mean Bozo. Button just happens to have been put into the best car on the track. How many good driver in F1 are driving **** cars that could do just as Good. That is the problem with F1. The only good racing was all the Back of the pack cars. THEY WERE RACING. Button snozed around the track with the best car.

Source(s): F1 needs to change. Dr. Phil May be able to help.

I think he has always been a great driver, but never had a car to prove it. I always said when he first started in 2000 for Williams, this guy would be champion one day.

I dont think he will be a great! But he would be World Champion!

He is, of course, the greatest right now. Whether he is remembered as one of "the Greats" will depend on whether he can remain competitive once this dream season is over.

Correct Bodini....when Brawn recently stated that he saw Button developing similararities to Schhh, then your predictions of an adept talent are in the cryslaline ball park.....well done.

Bozo, please at least do us the favour of spelling your other screen name correctly. While totally appreciating the perfect irony of your little deliberate faux pas, you fool me no longer!!

Either that or you have irritable vowel syndrome.
