How do I maintain my curls after a shower?

I have naturally thick, curly/wavy hair. I like my ringlet curls after I shower, and they do stay in ringlets . . . at lest until I brush my hair. Then, the culs pop and my curls turn into frizz. Is there any product or method I can use to maintain my ringlet curls?

Also, can you recommend a cute haircut for my type of hair? Thanks!

Update:

OK but if I don't brush it there are some flyaways always AND it looks really really messy.

I have that exact problem. exact.

I've learned to just wash my hair every morning with shampoo and conditioner and then comb it and let it dry without using hair dryers or anything. As long as you don't brush it, it will stay curly.

While in the shower, use your fingers and a dab of conditioner (or if you have lots of hair use lots of conditioner) and use your finger to come your hair. It can be tough but with the right amount of hair conditioner it should detangle. Or you could just use a comb. Make sure its wide tooth. If you comnbe your hair while your in the shower you wont have to bother combing it whilee out of the shower. So when it dries your curls will be maintained and not frizzy. I would let it dry naturally. Blowdryers over time can damage your hair if used often. Leave some conditioner in your hair if you plan on blowdrying, though. Also a good mousse helps keep your hair staying non frizzy.

Gel dries out your hair so i would suggest a mousse.

    Hope this helps!(:

Don't touch your hair, I've learned not to towel dry, not to scruntch, not to comb, not to brush....

I have a stubborn wave that has the potential of being cute ringlets, but it needs a lot more attention.

I have mixed hair, and have been using Carol's Daughter for the past month. It works like a dream, the Tui product line really hydrates my curls and helps them keep in shape for most of the day.

It's also a vegan product so it helps keep everything healty and it smells really nice too.

Edit: I'm going to sound like a product pusher, (I swear I'm not) but if you have flyaways, you need to start with a product that will condition your hair. Girls (and guys) with troublesome hair need to have hydrating products that help to keep hair looking healthy and bouncy as opposed to frizzy and unmanagable.

You need a routine, hair mask, oil, shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner.

I've found Bumble and Bumble to have curl friendly products. Aveda does as well. I keep away from drugstore brand products simply because they can be more damaging than good.
