well.. you will get fat no matter what because youre pregnant. But there is a healthy way to go about it. Eat healthy foods, eat small portions frequently. Eat enough to sustain you, but not enough to where you feel very full like most people do when eating a meal. Drink a lot of water to keep hydrated and also milk will help coat you stomach and fill you up. If you eat things like peanut butter or oatmeal, they seem to fill me up faster than other things. and the good thing is--they balance each other out.. peanut butter can constipate when you eat too much and oatmeal can make you go too much. Good luck.

I wouldn't eat if you are not hungry. I am also turned off a lot of foods but I only when I am hungry and what I want. You should only be consuming 300 more calories than your average. So if you should be consuming 2000 calories a day, 2300 would be fine. You actual don't need to eat so much or eat for two. 300 calories isn't very much. Just watch your weight and if you start gain then be cautious or try to eat healthier. I gained 4lbs in 2wks around 8wks because I was eating often and because I thought I was supposed to eat more. Then after that I stopped doing that and just ate when I was hungry.

Your body needs the food and you also need an extra 300 calories a day so go ahead and eat. At first I was worried about getting too big but I realized that if I keep a healthy diet and cut out fast food I would do good. Plus, you have the rest of your life to lose weight but only one chance to nourish this baby. And if you are feeling sick, just eat a plain piece of bread, not gourmet but it will help with the nausea.

Well, you only need an extra 300 calories a day. A lot of people's "hunger" is all in their head. But you do need to gain weight, you want to gain weight..like someone else said you are in the wrong boat otherwise. You shouldn't gain more than 25-35 pounds is what usual doctors will recommend. Some don't tell you at all and ppl end up gaining too much.

Eat if it makes you feel better, Maybe find a nice natural flavored tea as well.. Your body is working twice as hard now that there is something growing off you so it needs the food worryingg that you will get fat is silly.. At the start of my pregnancy i was a size 10-12 im now 41 weeks pregnant and pretty close to a size 20 trust me i never thought i would go this big! Im not saying that you will go the size i have but your body does get bigger because of swelling and YES because of the baby too, Good luck to you!

My midwife instructed me to eat only a small hand full of food every 30 minutes all day, no full meals and no going hungry. It kept the nausea under control and I didn't gain weight. A small cup of jello, hand full of nuts, piece of toast, a few crackers, a glass of milk or juice, a cup of yogurt, anything that sounds good at the time works just fine. It's hard to never feel full for 6 full weeks but it worked.

I have been soooo hungry. They say don't eat more than 300 calories a day, but I have been eating an average of 600 extra calories a day. I am just listening to my body and at 20 weeks I am at the lowest end of the recommended weight gain.
I say that if you are eating healthy and you are an active person just listen to what your body is asking for.

well the first thing that you need to know is that if you are pregnant, you are going to get fat no matter what!! there is no stopping it, and the more kids you have, the fatter you get each time. nausea is VERY common and should calm down the farther along you are. but if you limit your food intake just so you don't get FAT then you are neglecting your baby while you are carry it, you have a higher risk of miscarriage, still birth, malnourishment at birth and so on. i think you need pregnancy information and some counseling too. try going to WIC, they have lots of info for you

u need to gain weight in order to help support a healthy baby! as long as you eat healthy u shouldnt worry about ur weight. when i was nauseated I ate some crackers n soup.. it helped a little bit.. oh also some sprite or power aid if ur throwin up a lot to replace electrolytes.
good luck

I'm the same way even small portions all day make me sick right after I'm done eating. I'm also afraid of getting fat, I gained 65 pounds with my first son, 18 years ago. I'm 17 weeks right now and have gained 8 pounds....ask your doctor to give you Zofran....
