a question about christianity and the law?

my mother and our neighbor where sitting around the bonfire tonight discussing how there are more laws these days against christians then any other religion. what laws are there in the u.s. specifically targeting christians and their beliefs?

the only example they had was if a pharmacist refuse to sell a women birth control he/she could get sent to jail.

are pharmacist like doctors where they have to take an hippocratic oath, and there for have to fill any prescription giving by a doctor?

ok i guess that's two questions.

just for the record i am an atheist and believe a pharmacist should not be aloud to refuse any prescription based on their personal belief, but i still wonder if there are other laws like this.

Update:

if anybody is interested these are the answers i got from the law and ethics category

What they mean is that the laws today don't force non-Christians to adhere to Christian "rules". Pity.....(not)

Perhaps they mean the laws regarding prayer. If you are an employee of a company and a Muslim, you are guaranteed the right to do your prayers without being punished for it. However, a Christian has no such right.

Perhaps they mean the laws regarding the pulpit, where a preacher may not speak of any political candidate or lose their tax status as a not-for-profit company with the IRS. A Muslim Iman or Buddhist monk has no such restriction, nor does the president of the Red Cross or any other not for profit organization. Only the Christian ones appear to be threatened.

Perhaps they mean the laws regarding hate crimes which now include even language against another's lifestyle. Even mentioning that homosexuality is wrong is considered a hate crime.

I could go on, but I'm tired lol

Christ never had to comment on homosexuality. It was forbidden in his time. And that is addressed in Matthew 5:17 I have not come to destroy the law or the prophets but to fulfill. It is a common question about this issue. But the law of Moses condemned homosexuality and Christ would have never questioned it. Romans 1:27 is a good verse.

    how about a nonlaws:

the Supreme Court forced schools to remove prayer and the bible. The Congress makes laws not the courts.

Atheists favorite "words" in the Constitution are not in the Constitution."Separation of Church and State":

These words were "taken" from a letter Jefferson wrote to some baptists.

Jefferson's letter is a personal letter and never made part of the Constitution.Jefferson ended the letter with these words:

"I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection and blessing of the common Father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves and your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem."

    (signed) Thomas Jefferson

    Jan.1.1802

you surely will agree these words also should be "stapled" (Supreme Court added) to the Constitution.

The supreme court has "given" women the right to murder unborn babies.Nowhere in the Constitution does it guarantee the right to kill anyone. Not even the defenseless unborn.

Nowhere does the Constitution give homosexuals the a protected right to have sex.Remember rapist may some day want their sex protected.Remember pedophiles may some day want their sex protected.

Certain small groups forcing their views on everyone else in the US is not constitutional. The constitution gives the procedure for adding new laws (amendments). The Supreme court is not a legal short cut.

    Please search these out.

The bible says that we are not to be in simple terms told what to do and stuff because we as christians are above all and are lifted up with the lord... We are not living in what the goverment wants us to believe is a recession my heart is in the kingdom of God and there is not a recession there and i was promised when i gave my heheart to the lord to be blessed and prosper and i am still believing God for that. So i am not saying go 150 down the road we wont get introuble we still obay the law and rules...

But the goverment and nobody controls me

No the pharmastist along with nurses have the right to refuse medications to patients if they have an actuall medical reason and it is for the best of the patient

I don't know about your parents, but some Christians are referring specifically to the 10 commandments and prayer in school. When those were officially banned, many Christians felt that it was a target against Christianity.

I don't know of any specific laws - because they would be un-constitutional. However there is inequity in case by case decisions by the Judicial arm of our government. So in effect Christianity is being banned, although it's un-constitutional. This should come as no surprise to Christians, and it's predicted in the Bible (Persecution generally).

Well in a theocracy like America, we're supposed to uphold the beliefs of only 1 religious group, so when that religious group is denied rights so that other religious groups aren't forced to follow their rules, I guess it kind of ticks them off

Right off the top of my head:

Prayer is not allowed in schools.

They are removing God's name from many public places
