In or around your town, how do you think stimulus funds could be put to better use?

For example, a bad road, a forgotten community project? Explain.

I think the funds should go toward sustainability. For instance, introducing a vocational program at the local high school for HVAC repair (heat and air conditioning) in which the students take on the responsibility of maintaining the city schools, and possibly even public buildings. The students learn a marketable skill, the city gets a generous benefit. The equipment and course materials are paid for by the stimulus package. Also, new positions are created, vo-tech teaching staff, and money the city would be spending from tax revenues to repair the HVAC systems in its buildingsd could be spent elsewhere.

  • I live in very small community. We have had the same major forever. No one ever runs against her. She spent money on making the historic part of the town nice, new sidewalks, new roads, street lights. But I think stimulus funds could be used to fix the roads that are not in that small historic part. There are several small neighborhoods in the town, the one I live in has about 3 different roads and maybe 20 homes. Its kind of a big circle. Two of the roads are paved and the other one is the kind with rocks in it and it has pot holes in it. Also there are like 30 new homes in the town and I think a neighborhood pool, basketball court, tennis court, and pavilion would be a great idea. Also they need to fix up the grave yard. It looks like someone tried to clean it up and just stopped in the middle and threw the trash in the woods.

TAX CUTS. Let everyone KEEP their own money. 300 MILLION people can't possibly do worse than the few thousand in Washington.
