Baby Rash? Please help! Picture!?
Within the last hour, my 4 1/2 month old son developed this rash on his face. He hasn't been exposed to anything new at all lately.

(I hope one of those work!)
No new laundry detergents. He eats rice cereal, but he first had it about a week and a half ago and had to reaction. I'm heading into the doctor in half an hour, just hoped somebody had seen this before.
He had his 4 month vaccines, but that was also about 3 weeks ago now.
Thanks for the help. It did end up being ITP. His platelets were at 4, so he had a huge risk of spontaneous bleeding. We spent 3 days in hospital, and he'll be followed closely for the next few months to ensure his platelets do not drop again.

It doesn't look like an allergy. It looks like petechiae which is blood like a small bruise. He could have ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura), which essentially is unknown cause, low platelets causing bruising. Usually this resolves, also it can be vaccine induced. Call the doctor, its not usually serious, if he is lethargic and bruising alot then go into the ER. Check him all over before you call. They would probably want to look at it, and do some bloodwork.

You are doing the right thing taking him to the doctor. Are you sure the rash is only on his face? Good luck i hope it is nothing to worry about X

Has he had a fever? It could be related to that or an infection of some kind. Possibly an ear infection I would call the doctor ASAP

Call the doctor or maybe go in... Has he had shots recently, or any change in your laundry detergent?
