Christian Deists? Are you one of them?, If so please explain your reason?
First i would like to say, that if you call yourself a "Deist" and believes in the "Bible" and "Jesus Christ"..Then you are not a Deist! why? well this is why.
1.Deists don't believe in a personal god!
2.We reject all religious texts!
3.We have a belief based on "Reason" not "Faith".
4.The Story Of Jesus Christ is "Nonsense" (I'm sorry)
5. We don't believe in "Yahweh/Jehova" god of the bible
6.Please read "Thomas Paine The Age Of Reason" or "Common Sense"...you will see
7.Because it is an insult for one to link "Deism" and "Christianity" togather.
8.Deists, don't believe in miracles, or prayer/worship.
9.Our beliefs is based on the physical and natural universe and what we can understand through science.
I'm a Deist of course and i don't believe in an "After Life", and all the things i mentioned above, So if you call yourself a "Christian Deist" you are not because it contradicts entirely what "Deism" is about.
The only thing "Deists" and "Christians/Theists" have in common is we both believe in a "God" an all powerful being, a force that created the universe, Christians believe in things like miracles and worship, and an all loving god who knows all, you believe in Heaven & Hell, You believe in Satan, you believe God had a son.
Us deists don't believe any of the above.
I'm sorry..but any reasonable "Deist" will tell you the exact same thing.
....You cannot be a "Christian Deist".
Bye!
@ Cool shades, huh?
Explain why you are a "Christian Deist" and how it is possible?
@ Houthict
Yes it is.....
@ DisneysMickey99
What? the desriptions i provided does not fit into any "Theist" mindset, especially a "Christian" you believe in a personal god..i do not!
@ lipgloss-junkie
That is completly wrong a "Christian" is an atheist because he/she does not believe in all other possible gods. But a Christians is not an "Atheist' because a Christian is a "Theist" who haves a belief in "God"...A Christian cannot be a "Deist" because of the points i made above.
How can a "Christian" be an "Atheist'? does he believe in "Jesus Christ" but does not believe in "Yahweh/Jehova"?????
@ Houthict
LOL! yeah i don't think so either but i ran into this guy who told me he was a "Christian Deist" and he believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior which did not make any sense to me! and there are tons of website that promote christian deism...which makes absolutley no sense at all!
@ lipgloss-junkie
I believe i am asking the question out of curiosity, which is why i asked, because one cannot be a "Christian Deist"..I wanted to know the reason why some people consider themselves such! i talked to a Christian himself who said that he was a "Deist" but he believes in Jesus Christ as his lord and savior, and us deists just don't believe the story of jesus!
My mistake you do not understand the question.

Christian deist is contradictory.
Edit: I don't think there are many "christian deists" here.

There are Christian Atheists who simply believe in the message that Jesus sends in the New Testament without buying into the fantastic elements. I don't see why there can't be Christian Deists as well.
Edit: "Christian" as an adjective just means follower of Christ. You'd have to look no farther than the hundereds of different religious denominations to see that it is hardly indicative of a specific religious doctrine. It's perfectly possible to view the Christ presented in the bible as a teacher to emmulated without beliving him to be the son of God. I didn't coin the term, and I don't personal descibe myself as it, but that doesn't change the fact that it exists. I was under the impression that you ask a question out of a genuine curiosity for other view points, not just have yourself a nice self-rightous rant. My mistake.

If your "identity" is locked in stone..........
why bother with this question ?
To be "Christian" is pretty much as you describe.
(ok , since you missed my point...yes, we are the opposite of all you describe....)
You can stay locked in stone..........it doesnt change the day of your death, or standing before God to give an answer for your life, and your choices.........
but then again.........you can tell Him personally you dont believe in Him, or this Love He had for you here, you can do all this as you stand before Him, . .........should be interesting.
