What's wrong with my Silver Dollar?

I'm not really sure what's going on but it has a small, maybe eraser sized and ball-shaped something in what looks like its belly, just to the front of the anal fin. It seems to be protruding more on the left side than the right?

What is that? Eggs? Swollen organ? I've had all of my silver dollars for 3 1/2 years now; I don't want to lose him/her.

Update:

It's about the size of a pea.

I got a picture (who knows how!) and here it is...not the best quality but I think it's pretty visible.

Please take a picture of the fish and post it attached to your question so we can see what you're talking about.

    Update:

Okay, I see your picture. Wow, that's a large lump. It looks almost exactly like the lump on this webpage: http://www.oscarfishlover.com/index.php/Lump/Lump-... on the oscar's chin in the second photo.

The author of that webpage discovers those lumps frequently and says that they are never cause for alarm. I think that all of that person's fish lived normal lifespans even after developing those lumps.

Of course, if the lump starts to get bumpy and discolored, then it might be a tumor. But what is looks like right now is just a harmless little bump like the ones found on that oscar. Here is more information about tumors on fish: http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/disease/tumor.php

And here is someone who had a question very similar to yours, where someone pointed out that chinese algae eaters sometimes latch onto other fish and might be causing the sore. http://board.fishchannel.com/Topic179221-21-1.aspx Do you have any chinese algae fish in the tank?
